Worth it! Review: A compendium of engineering facts - I'm not a mechanical engineer, but can now better appreciate the challenges in making reliable products at various levels of cost and materials. Pretty good for now.
My son really likes it. Applied some of the dynamics to his race car. So, will write more after racing season.

Wrong units
This book is fantastic for ME's, but this edition specifically is rife with unit conversion issues for certain equations. Be warned that the answers to the example questions were originally computed in US customary units and converted back to metric, so some conversion factors were not updated in print. This makes the answers correct but the derivations at times incorrect.

So many markings and lots of writing on the cover, it’s clearly indicating that it’s been used but when I bought it said brand new and no other details. Extremely unacceptable.

Lot of mistakes with respect to Conversion from English Units to SI units, continuing in this edition too. These mistakes at times make it difficult to make out and irritating. Request the publisher to look into it and keep their standard and reputation of Shigley

Was recommended by my university lecturer whilst I was a student (over 13 years ago), and bought it recently to have as a reference. The way it explains concepts is really good for students and practicing engineers alike.

A very good textbook, beyond the standard Indian authors' books recommended during UG studies of many universities. The eleventh edition is in SI units (almost all examples & problems are converted for good). All Mechanical Engineers, should read & follow after the basic books.
