LodgeCast Iron Loaf Pan 8.5x4.5 Inch, Black

These have definitely made my sourdough loaves better and I’m very happy I purchased them. I bake 2 loaves once a week and like my other lodge cast iron items, they only get better over time. Love that it’s made in the US and the heat distribution is unmatched! I’ve baked in these twice already and the loaves come out very easily if you butter the pan well before baking. I’ve been baking my sourdough at 400° for about 35-40 minutes depending on how brown you like your loaves. I usually have a sheet pan with filtered water on the bottom rack to create steam too. Definitely recommend for someone who bakes sourdough or any kind of bread regularly.

First of all, I love cooking with cast iron. So, maybe I’m biased. I ordered 2 of the 10” loaf pans because I read a review someone wrote about not realizing how small the regular sized pans are. Goes to show that reviews are read. I was really pleased with the way these loaf pans cooked, so I decided to order the 8” loaf pans. I make a lot of sandwich bread and pound cakes. Using these loaf pans, I really don’t need my baking stone in the bottom of my oven. I ordered 3 of the smaller ones. They came a day early which was also terrific. One of the loaf pans came with a broken handle. No big deal, things happen. I sent in a request for replacement and they immediately shipped out another one which I got a day early again. I’m pleased with the service, speed of replacement, and quality of the product. I am now eyeing the Bundt cast iron pan. Way to go, Lodge!

This pan browns evenly all the way around and the bottom. Be sure to use coat the inside with shorting for easy removal. I'm going to order a second one for baking bread.

Slightly smaller than most bread pans but great for bread baking, easy car - just remember to grease pans after washing & drying.

I love the Lodge brand cast iron. I have the full set of pans and dutch oven. I just had to add this to my collection as I have started making my own bread. Never sticks! Best thing is it's preseasoned. All I have to do is wipe lightly with oil.

Love the pans...HATE Amazon sloppy shipping. One of the two pans I ordered arrived with a broken handle. I'm not returning because it would cost more to return than it's worth. AMAZON NEEDS TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER WITH REGARDS TO SHIPPING AND PAKAGING. I have had 3 items arrive in the last year that were in some manner damaged ie: chipped, broken corner, and borken handle on my cast iron bread pans. SHAPE UP, AMAZON...

My only baking skill is banana bread, and this is a perfect cast iron loaf pan for that. It is quite heavy and requires specific care in washing and oiling to avoid rust (this replaces a similar product that went through the dishwasher and that ended its useful life). This pan is good quality and provides even heating while baking. A quality and cost effective solution!

Mine arrived in perfect condition and I couldn't be happier! These pans turn out beautiful & consistent loaves (as expected from cast iron) and I couldn't be happier. My search for loaf pans is over!
