LOVE this watch!
My absolute favorite running watch (I upgraded from a different Garmin). The functions (button controls on the side of the watch) may take a little time to learn, but it's not difficult. The GPS is extremely accurate and all of the information from the watch syncs quickly to the Garmin App. I've worn it in all kinds of weather and different types of races and have never had a problem. Pretty strong battery life, too, but out of habit, I do charge it every night. Looks nice and the adjustable band ensures a perfect fit! Really great running watch, and I know I'm not even taking advantage of everything it offers yet.

GPS and durability
The Garmin Forerunner 55 is an excellent entry-level GPS running watch that punches well above its price point. Designed for beginner to intermediate runners, it offers accurate GPS tracking, heart rate monitoring, and essential training features without overwhelming users with complexity. Key Features: Built-in GPS: Fast and accurate tracking of pace, distance, and route. Daily Suggested Workouts: Personalized training guidance based on your fitness level. Heart Rate Monitoring: Tracks 24/7, even during sleep. Battery Life: Up to 2 weeks in smartwatch mode and 20 hours in GPS mode—fantastic for long training weeks. Lightweight Design: Comfortable enough for all-day wear. Pros: User-friendly interface, great for beginners. Impressive battery life. Great value for the features included. Offers safety tracking (like LiveTrack) for peace of mind. Cons: No music storage or contactless payments. Limited advanced metrics for elite athletes. Verdict: If you're new to running or want a reliable, no-fuss GPS watch, the Forerunner 55 is a standout choice. It delivers just what you need—accuracy, motivation, and ease of use—at a budget-friendly price.

Very nice
Good fit. A little difficult to learn for beginners to a garmin. It’s nice though,I like the wristband too. Decent battery life and worth it.

Perfect workout watch
Great watch, I use this everyday and only need to charge like twice a month. The alarm vibrations don’t get me up as easily in the mornings as my Apple Watch, but that’s the ONLY complaint. It shows all notifications, but I only like seeing calls and texts on here, and tracks my runs and workouts great. Does NOT have strength training options like the 265 or Fenix series, but that’s alright, I use HIIT for weights and can change it in the app if I want to track more specifically what I did. It had about two weeks of this weird Bluetooth connection, it was connected to my phone but showed a code like it needed to connect to something, restarted it a couple times and it’s been gone for about a month or more now.

I miss the Forerunner 35 display but okay extra features
Only had this watch 10 days so I may still be adjusting. I have tried some display apps but none gives quite the same large font display like my old watch, the Forerunner 35. The displays are just hard to read for me but I am older so they are probably fine for someone with better eyesight. The extra options are okay. I miss the simplicity of the old 35, but I will probably adjust. Found out that "treadmill" on the watch means treadmill running only. Easy enough to change after my workout but kind of ticked me off. Having to scroll through all the options on the watch is a little annoying. Would rather just have the basic options in all honesty. Most of the features are lost on me. I already have coaching via iFit. The Body Battery seems a little too obvious that not sure why it is even a feature. Maybe after using it awhile it will seem more useful but basically just common sense applied to a feature. I thought I might enjoy the colors but really don't. I will adjust, but don't really like the pause after I start or stop an exercise before it actually lets you start, stop or resume. Seems way too complicated but I am still learning the buttons so the frustration of that may go away as I get comfortable with the watch. The only reason I bought it was it was slightly cheaper than the more basic model. Knowing what I know now, I would have opted for the extra $10 to get the FR35. UPDATE: I ended up returning this watch. For whatever reason, it was not providing accurate steps and after trying all the suggested solutions, I just gave up on it. I did order another FR35, my third since 2020. My current one is still working but the crystal cracked and not sure when or if it will finally lose water resistance. I plan to leave the new on boxed until I decide the current one is just not making it anymore. Still holding a reasonable charge right now and okay with water.

Waterproof
great watch. Love that it’s waterproof. I have worn it in the ocean, shower, and lakes. It counts all of my fitness activity. One thing I do miss about my Fitbit was that it has HRV on there and Garmin does not. I also, wish I could swap out the straps for something more feminine when I dress up. Otherwise it is a great watch. screen has a protector on it for reference.
