Does this have a temperature monitor and will it turn the AC on and off to achieve that temperature? Thanks

If you want it to work like a heating thermostat it will not unfortunately. It is simply a device that takes over from the remote control so you can use from your phone anywhere anytime. Which is great for me, I live in a mobile home and I can operate AC from work so it's ready when I get home. Another great thing with it is you can set timers, for different temperature settings and to turn on and off, I set timers all through the night to regulate the temperature in the van, because although you set at 20 say it can get cold in the night and need a blast of 21 or need turning down, depending on outside temperature. It is good, but like I say it will not monitor your temperature and adjust itself, I wish it did and if you find something please let me know 😃

How many air conditioners can this control?

As it outputs infra red signals rather like a remote control it can only activate one unit and must have view of that unit so it can see the sensibo’s transmission. I have two, one to control upstairs and the other to control downstairs and have to say they work very well with my Mitsubishi units
