UPDATE: This is a pretty good alternative to expensive legos! BUT- keep in mind, and maybe this was just my mistake, I had assumed all the smaller cars together make the giant robot. That is false. You can build all 6 little vehicles OR the robot. My son really wanted the giant robot so we took the vehicles apart and rebuilt the robot but it was a huge undertaking. My husband actually had to take over and was super frustrated with the giant robot build. It was stressful to listen to him try to build it. I am still giving 4 stars only because I think for the price, it’s worth it. I recommend building the 6 small vehicles and sticking with that. For that, it’s definitely worth the price.ORIGINAL: Our son is 5 and can typically follow the plans solo. I figured for $20 even if it was a bust we would have some extra Lego pieces. We haven’t finished the entire project, it’s 6 small creations that I believe turn into one giant robot. I was a little confused by the instructions at first but don’t let it overwhelm you, it actually is relatively easy to follow once you get the gist. My 5 year old needs some help but I think a well versed in legos 6 year old could do it solo if you show them how to start. I will post an update and photo once we have the final product but so far, I’m actually really impressed! All of the pieces have been there that we needed. It’s a lengthy project, plan for a full afternoon or split it up into one small car a day like we have.

Like other reviews mentioned, this is a good Lego alternative. My kid really enjoyed building different firetrucks and played with them afterwards. The instruction booklet is also very clear, but it's not as easy for a 6-year old to follow. My kid is young, so I assemble the cars together with him. It's definitely a good bonding time though as we assemble the cars together. However, if you're looking for a toy in which the kid can play by himself for hours, then this set is more suitable for kids at least 8 years old.

Love this toy! I love how the individual bags are labeled, makes things much easier. When my son gets tired of playing with a car, he easily makes it the transformer and it's like playing with a while new toy. Great investment!

My son and I had a lot of fun building this block set together. Then end result is really impressive—the airplane is held in the air by the tension of the string! So cool!

I bought this aeroplane for my son as a gift, he absolutely loves it! It’s a beautiful colour blue, and an intelligent building model. I recommend this toy as a gift, for children who like building Lego and similar. This model is going to sit on show on a shelf in my sons bedroom. He was so happy and pleased once he had finished building it.

Bought for my son, but my daughter loved helping to build the different models too. It was quite tricky for younger children with lots of small parts but great for older ones and helping them improve fine motor skills. It kept them entertained for a long time so a win from me! The bricks are good quality and great bright colours throughout.

A great product with clear, easy to follow instructions. The blocks come packaged in bags with the relevant number on for each model making it easy to find the parts you need and the instructions you need to follow.Well thought out and age appropriate, I love how all of the pieces can go together to make the larger figure too, although we haven’t attempted that one just yet. My son loves sitting down and building these with me and his dad.
