Calcium propionate is used as a preservative in a wide variety of products, including but not limited to bread, other baked goods, processed meat, whey, and other dairy products. Really controls mold, effective, well packaged.
Really controls mold in baked goods. Our homemade sandwich bread now keeps for over a week!Can't taste any difference.Used 1g for 1lb of flour in yeast bread.A little tricky weighing out exactly one gram at a time.The packaging is solid, and the zip seal should last a while.Since I use so little at a time, I'm thinking about moving it to a mason jar with a dedicated measuring spoon that gets me to close to 1g with a volume measurement.
