Belkin CoolSpot USB-Powered Laptop Cooling Pad (Black) (F5L055btBLK)

Don't waste your money on a cheap multi-fan, LED-clad monster fan that blows a bunch of dust directly inside your laptop.This model pulls air instead of pushing it (which is what you want). It has a very subtle sound when operating, and holds my laptop at the perfect height for me while keeping my PC nice and cool. It's functional when I'm holding my computer on my lap as well. I use and store my laptop in a converted garage that gets very warm in the summer, but this fan reliably keeps my system's temperature regulated. It's lasted nearly 2 months with constant use and I have no complaints whatsoever. I can't comment on how this compares to more expensive fans, but I can't imagine how they can be much better; this does everything you need a cooling fan to do.I'm really glad I picked this instead of the flashier ones I was about to buy. It's perfect.

This little cooling pad is working great so far. I had such a tough time keeping my laptop from overheating. I was worried I would damage something and end up with costly repairs. So when I went looking for cooling pads and saw all the options I was a bit overwhelmed. Then I saw this one: low price, simple setup. How could I lose? If it stopped working like the other one I had I would only be out $14. So I got it and I can say I am very happy I did. It is a bit small for my 15" laptop but that does not matter as my laptop sits nicely right over the fan. I can rest the Belkin on my lap with no problems. It is quiet and keeps my laptop nice and cool. Great little cooling pad. Get one.

I purchased this for our daughter and she loves it. She said it's well constructed and runs quietly. She has a glass top desk and said it stays put on it. She has no complaints, I think I will get one for my laptop too...it's amazing the heat that blows out the left side of it! So, with my girl really happy with it AND knowing the quality and good pricing of Belkin products, I would suggest this CoolSpot laptop cooling pad to anyone.***I purchased myself one for a laptop I use as a desktop...it gets real hot and thought this would help...it DOES! I plugged it into the laptop and turned it on, the fan started as soon as the laptop was powered and was not only moving air but doing it QUIETLY...a bonus in my mind! I really am pleased with this and feel it was an excellent price too. I would recommend this to everyone.***UPDATED Sept.2nd***. I still like it but do not love it, as it has become much noisier. I use this on a large TV tray, and not on any other surface, including not on my lap...so I feel its still a fair review. I am not sure WHY its become noisier, but it has and its distracting enough that if I was sitting and watching a video it would attract my attention, and not in a favorable way. I have deducted one star for this as its not that old and I feel it should still be as quiet as it was when purchased, just over 3 weeks ago!...so from a 5 star to a 4 star.

This item is great! Perfect for kickin' back in my Lay-z-Boy in front of the TV. My aging laptop had been over-heating & shutting down more & more; using this has stopped that completely and is extending its life so I can put off buying a new one for a while. Is a bit cumbersome but not unreasonable. Researching reviews outside Amazon, this item consistently came up as #4 or 5 of the top 5 recommendations, #1 or 2 in line with my price range. At this Amazon price, (roughly $20 below MSRP), WELL worth the money. I bought one then another at an even lesser price just so I have a back up.

Woefully underpowered. This is supposed to be a cooling fan? I could see from the picture that the fan was rather small, but I guess I thought it would be very powerful, enough to blow air to cover the entire underside of a laptop. NOPE. It's a very small, quiet, weak fan that pushes out a very small amount of air right over the fan area. So if you have a hotspot in the very center of your laptop and NOWHERE ELSE, then this fan may barely work. But my laptop heats up in the battery area, and near the plug, which is at the top of the laptop. Even if the fan was centered on the battery compartment, I doubt it would provide much cooling. There are so many better options available, this one is ridiculous.

Fan is too loud, though probably not as loud as those on some of these devices. It's small. A larger fan, running at lower RPM and therefore quieter, would be preferred. Also, while the rubber pads on the underside will certainly grip any surface, the ones on the top meant to hold your laptop are useless as most laptops have 4 small bumps for feet, and that means only the tiny two spots on the front of my 11-inch Macbook Air come in contact with it. If you are in an office or school environment, or have kids running around, you probably won't notice the fan noise too much. But you'll have to use this with the laptop sitting flat on a desk or table. If you plan to sit in bed, reclined on a bank of pillows, with one or two knees bent and your laptop resting at an angle, then this won't work, as your laptop will simply slide right off.

The media could not be loaded. I was lucky enough to get this at $7 on a Black Friday deal but this is a very good basic laptop cooling pad. The design is simple and when it's plugged into the USB port it's on and when you take it out it turns off. It is plastic but is sturdy and doesn't feel cheap. The rubber grip on both the bottom (for the surface it is sitting on) and the top (to hold the computer) works very well. It is also pretty quiet and unnoticeable when in use.
