How It Works Depends on the Shape of Your House and Your Neighbors' Lights. Works Great for Us!
Lovely entrancing display. Used it for 3 weeks, 8 hours a day in mild but sometimes very humid Texas weather around Christmas, 2016. Lots of folks on our neighborhood have purchased the item (about 10% of the 100 houses in our neighborhood) so you may not get many points for originality. But viewing the effect on the many different houses using Star Shower Motion, the beauty depends a lot on the shape of your house and what your neighbors are doing with their lighting. We are in the back of a dark cul-de-sac with a two-story house with a big brick arch and steps up to a front door landing. The light display is awesome with light appearing to run up one side of the arch, crawl across the top of the house just below our roofline, and descend the other side of the arch. Since the arch contains a huge glass window to the front entrance/family room, some of the lights actually dance across the ceiling of the family room inside the house but the effect is so subtle one can watch sports and movies on TV without being distracted. A Mountain Laurel shrub by the front door catches some of the light projection and makes some of the light appear to fly off the wall and dance in the air before returning to the projector. Other houses have found other ways to use the light. One house deliberately parks their SUV in front of the lights in their front traffic circle to catch part of the pattern on their shiny car. Another house has stopped the motion of the lights at a particular point in the pattern that they like to "freeze-frame" that pattern on the house. So what your display looks like depends very much on the architecture and environs of the house and your cleverness in placing and using the light to maximize the effects. In our cul-de-sac there are one or two houses that would do tribute to Clark Griswold's house in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation movie for the amount and intensity of lights. Another house has motion-activated very intense LED security lights that blast much of the cul-de-sac when triggered. And there is a street light at the entrance to the cul-de-sac. None of these things distract much from the appearance of the Star Motion Shower lights as viewed right in front of the house but can interfere with the ability to see the lights at the entrance to the cul-de-sac or further down the main street. So if you want a display for the world to see from two blocks away, these lights might not be for you but if you just want something to enjoy as you're entering and leaving your house, these lights are still delightful and display very well close to the house.I should imagine as time progresses the thing for the manufacturer to do will be to offer more choice in the customization in the light display pattern. Right now, though, the available pattern is beautiful and almost hypnotic, at least as displayed on the particular structure of our house.

It looks great. Very impressed.
This laser light is amazing. It is very bright and makes my house look great. It's easy to install. You do not need to be very close to the house either, it can travel a long way. I have two installed and one is at an angle and it's lighting my neighbors side wall. You will not be disappointed with coverage on this model, it does the job 100%. Depending on where you position your Star Shower the light sensor may think it's daytime and won't turn on. I had that issue with one of them. I put a piece of tape over the sensor.A couple of minor complaints. First off the cord is maybe 1ft long. Granted you need extension cord when doing outside lights but I have some power stations setup and I can't even get Star Shower to reach it with that short cord. The cord is also a power brick, so it's going to eat up a couple of slots when you plug it into a power strip. The other issue is the motion. It does not remember motion on when you power it off with a timer. They mention that in the manual and recommend you leave it powered on all the time and let it's light sensor shut it off during the daytime. Well I don't want my lights on after 11:30pm, so a timer is a must.

I will never hang Christmas lights again.
I have seen these become more popular over the past few years, but I was always the one that was hanging from the edge of the roof trying to clip lights to the shingles (scared of heights!)My 5yo boy actually seen these in the store and really wanted it, but instead I walked past them to the light Isle again only to buy more light because last years already broke do to weather. Thinking about all the hassle, I decided to try something new and purchased three of these, and I am extremely happy I did.First of all, they are extremely easy to use. All you have to do is attach the lawn stake and plug them in. It gives you the option of green lights, red lights or both green and red at the same time. It also allows you to choose a solid pattern, or a moving display with a simple touch of a button.Because out house is around 2,400sqf, we purchased 3 of these and placed them about 5 feet away from each other. We also set them back away from the house about 15 feet, and they look awsome. Very nice pattern, and very bright for all to see.I also wanted to mention that these are built very well . The only issue that I see with these is that you will need to buy a two or three outlet extention cord as they will not plug into each other l8ke string lights do. If you don't want to purchase the new cord, you will have to run these separately into your house outlet. All in all, the picture that I provided below does not do these justice. They are Brite and really look good, and no more climbing the side of my house!

The perfect Christmas light projector
I bought this product 6 years ago and never had an issue. It finally died this year and after trying another projector, decided to return it and order this one again. It's the perfect amount of motion, doesn't pause between cycles and the daylight/night sensor makes it so easy. Even though my first one died, it breaks down to $5 per year. So worth it. Highly recommend.

Missing base
Laser functions work fine, but did NOT include the flat round base as advertised...only the stake to go in ground.

Green light doesn't work. Started working again
Bought this last year but couldn't use it as a stake was missing. Put it out this year and the very next day, the green light wasn't projecting at all. Not sure how to rate this as I tested multiple times in door and worked perfectly. 24 hours outside in the cold and it wouldn't project the green light. If you try it indoors, the light still works but extremely faint and would need to be about 4 to 5 inches away from a surface for it to be visible in the dark. Unfortunately can't use this anymore.Efir: started working perfectly again. No idea what happened. Great product

Love it
Easy to set up and gives a great coverage on house and trees, would suggest buying maybe 4 for house that is 75 ft. outside coverage.
