Rage and Ruin: The Harbinger Series, Book 2

Absolutely Everything
I chose to rate this book 5 and I would have given it more if it would have let me. This is the perfect second book in the series for the Harbinger. Rage and Ruin drew me in and would not let me go until the very last page. Everything is so, so well written. I felt like I understood every characters decisions and thoughts. Jennifer L. Armentrout doesn't just create a beautiful, magical, world for us to enjoy. But it's meaningful and touches on some big issues in life. Through her characters you really do understand that not everyone is good or evil. It makes you think about real life and how people treat others. I have loved every second of this book. I have heart broken, lifted, joyful and in wonder of what the next book in the series will bring. If you are thinking of starting this series. Stop thinking and just do it. You won't be disappointed. It's funny and witty. Serious and sad. Hilarious and uplifting. I haven't felt this way about a series of books in years.

Full of suspense!
Rage & Ruin is the second book in the Harbinger series, and things are really starting to heat up! If you're looking for a supernatural series with a slow-burn forbidden romance, as well as being full of suspense and mystery - this is a series for you! This book is full of suspense and mystery following the shocking twist at the end of the first book and tensions are really starting to rise rapidly between Wardens and Demons, as well as Zayne and Trinity! I really enjoyed the pacing of this book, nothing was too rushed which for the premise of this book is needed.I am a big JLA fan and the characters she writes. JLA's characters are not your typical good vs evil characters, they have their own flaws and downfalls (as we all do!) and this makes them especially likeable.Regarding Zayne and Trinity, I am really loving watching their relationship grow as they find out more about themselves as individuals, as well as bonded partners. What I especially love is how both Zayne and Trinity are breaking the mould of what, and who, a Warden should be. Trinity is constantly proving how strong she is as a woman, and Zayne is right there along side her both as her protector and supporter. As such, we really get to see Zayne develop in this book and come to terms with many things especially his relationship with Layla and Roth (I love how we get to see more of Layla and Roth in this series and not just as minor pop-ups!).As the last book set the scene, Rage and Ruin really delivered with thrilling twists and turns as well as one hell of a cliff hanger! I am really looking forward to reading the fallout of these events in the next book!

Love knows no boundaries
Had to wait a while for part two of this thrilling series, but goodness was it worth it. Make cha has died, Zambezi is the realProtector and Trinity’s eye sight continues to diminish. The forbid fruits are tasted and consequences become apparent but that is enough of a spoiler or red herring. This episode continues on a gripping theme, between semi good and drastic evil. There is humour and banter between the characters. There is so much drama it exploded from the pages. Relationship issues and trust thread their way between most of the characters, and with this the story builds into one heck of a climax. There is romance in the darkest of moments, but most of all there is a phenomenal story to read, digest and enjoy. I await part three with baited breath and hope it is not to far away.

Love this but have a few pet peeves.
First of all why does Zayne get to throw the things Trinity has confide in him in her face without any repercussions or guilt? Why does he get to continuously sneak off to have lunch with Stacey, when one dinner with Trinity made him feel like theyre neglecting their duties and therefore can no longer do it again? Why does he get to make her feel like a burden to him, when he promised her that she was not and he would not treat her like Misha had.And again no repercussions. No reminding him he is being a bad friend or bad protector. No making him feel bad for making promises of how he woukd treat and talk to Trinity and yet do the opposite when he got mad!He was pretty gpod at making Trinity feel awful while taking no responsibility. Not gonna lie but bit selfish and narcissistic. At the the same time when he does step up and get his head out of his ass.. He is great.Just didnt like the whole Stacey story and how he made her such a priority.

Brilliantly written and great characters
This book is just amazing, I loved the Dark Elements series and Zayne was one of my favourite characters. So it’s great that he now has his own series with Trinity. JLA writes strong female characters so well and you immediately start rooting for Trinity and Zayne. For lovers of the DE series - there are so great scene with Layla and Roth. This book gave me twists and turns, shocks and tears and lots of smiles. I can’t wait for the next in the series.

Absolutely loved this! As per usual, Jennifer’s books never disappoint! This got me out of my lockdown slump, only took my a day to read. Was actually meant to be working from home but kept reading this between tasks!I’m just sad that I read it so quickly and now have to wait so long for her next release :(Have been reading Jennifer’s books for countless years now- would recommend to anyone to read this book and every other book she has written :)

This book had me feeling so many things! It made me laugh, happy, excited but also mad, frustrated and angry! So many things happened that I did not expect! The ending was something I already knew because sadly I read a spoiler but still I really need more answers!I didn't know that Layla and Roth would be in these books so much but I really like it! Especially Bambi!! 😍So I'm very excited to read the last book in this series and see what the hell happened and how things will end!

Fast-paced, excellent mystery and action scenes and just so much fun to read!!
Series Info/Source: This is the second book in the Harbinger series. I bought this as an ebook for my Kindle.Story (5/5): This story starts out right where the last book left off. The identity of the Harbinger is a mystery that Trinity and Zayne must solve. The Harbinger has started killing Wardens much more publicly and they must turn to Roth and his demons for help. Meanwhile Zayne and Trinity are also having a difficult time controlling their feelings for each other and, although they know they are forbidden to be together, they don’t understand the true consequences of what will happen if they are. This story is intense and full of action and very fast-paced. It also has some humor throughout and some amazing scenes between Zayne and Trinity. I was sucked right into it and couldn’t put it down.Characters (5/5): I absolutely love Zayne and Trinity; they both try so hard and are such amazing characters. The relationship between them is both sizzling and caring all at once and I loved it. I went back and read “The Dark Elements” series featuring Roth and Layla before reading this second book in the Harbinger series and am happy I did. Reading “The Dark Elements” series helped me to understand Roth a lot better and follow some of the things Zayne is going through as well. Armentrout did an amazing job with these characters.Setting (4/5): The book is set in DC which is fine but doesn’t really feature much in this story. This story is much more driven by the characters and the mystery of the Harbinger than anything else.Writing (5/5): I am absolutely loving Armentrout’s writing style, her books remind me a lot of Annette Marie’s books. Her writing is fast-paced, and she does an amazing job writing action scenes. She also does a wonderful job with witty dialogue and making you really love the characters in the story. I think this series is a lot more polished than “The Dark Elements “ series which precedes this series in this world. Reading the Harbinger series makes me want to go back and check out other series by her. For a while I was getting her confused with Jennifer Armintrout (with an “i”) who wrote the Blood Ties series, which was pretty awful...don’t do that...stick with Jennifer L. Armentrout. My Summary (5/5): Overall I really loved this addition to the Harbinger series. This is an urban fantasy with heavy romance elements and an excellent mystery. It’s a very guilty pleasure type of read. I read the whole thing in a couple sittings and struggled to put it down. If you love fast-paced urban fantasy with amazing fight scenes, an excellent mystery, and some sizzling romance I would definitely recommend this series to you. I can’t wait to read the next one!
