I recently had to replace a 20 year old sump pump and I initially made the mistake of not replacing the also 20 year old check valve. I went ahead and ordered this relatively inexpensive part. Installation was super easy. No need to worry about screwing this on a threaded PVC piece, I just slipped the rubber ends on and tightened the metal bands using a flathead and it was nice and snug. Once I turned on the new sump pump, it worked like a charm and super seamless! No leaks and it was really quiet too! I love that I can also visibly see the little stopper that’s inside. Save yourself the labor costs getting a plumber to install, you can do it yourself with YouTube and some good ol’ fashioned manual labor.

I wish I had known about this years ago. No more water hammer! This thing is whisper quiet and takes stress off the pump.

The word SILENT certainly fits this description for the valve! Easy to install, tight fit and quiet!

This is one of the few pump valves that has a clear mechanism in order to view that everything is working properly.. since I've installed this I get no more knocking from back pressure and no more drain from backfilling. Everything fit perfectly. Item seems high quality and well constructed. I love that this valve came with rubber rubber connectors and clamps. I haven't seen this item anywhere at any of the home improvement stores.. so if you're going to get one you should probably get it here. Time will tell if the glued seams on this plastic item hold up. But the plastic was strong enough to crank down on the clamps nice and tight.. I would buy this product again if I needed to.

I had ZERO issues installing it. Fit great. And it cycles great, too. The sump pump runs less, at the times it is needed. And so far, no leaking back past that rubber flapper check valve, which is critical. My only concern is its longevity. It’s clear plastic, glued together. In all my decades in engineering, that’s can be a weakest link. So that’s why I rated this 4 instead of 5.

We've been putting up with these loud knocks in the pipes for YEARS whenever the sump pump came on. It took my husband about 15 minutes to put this in and bingo, no more noise.

Water softener installer rigged up something that would leak salty water down my concrete basement wall claiming the softener required free and open discharge with no back pressure but ignored my request to have it tie into a lower point on the main sewer trunk line which would have netted a longer pvp pipe above the S trap to catch enough volume of water to allow gravity to pull it through the S trap without backing up the softener system or overflowing. So instead of letting salty water continue to rain on my wall and have to hand carry a bucket of water to another sump on the other side of the basement I decided to make catch basin right here using a five gallon bucket and sump with a check valve to force the unwanted discharge thru the drain and eliminate the need for an S trap since the check valve keeps water contained in the pipe so no sewer gases could enter the basement through it. The project was pretty easy and only required a few extra parts and was finished within a half hour tested it for leaks and already see this as a much more functional and practical method than what I was left with by a so called professional. Best of al lit was affordable compared to what I paid for labor installing the water softener. Perfect fit for what I needed and have no doubts in the quality in the check valve and believe this will last free of leaks for years maybe even for my lifetime.

This is an excellent upgrade to basic check valves. It is almost entirely silent and prevents the loud thunk you get with regular or simple check valves. It's a premium high quality product that seems very durable for long term use. Installation was incredibly easy and simple with everything you might need.

The sump pump that came with our house was quite loud and had a normal check valve that had a massive THUNK sound every time it engaged. Our sump pit is in the room directly below our boys room so it would wake him up occasionally, which was not a good time. I replaced the sump pump with a Red Lion RL-SC50T which is also VERY quiet, and this check valve is indeed silent. I used to be able to hear the pump and check valve from anywhere in the house, and now I can only hear it from a couple feet away. If the loud thunk sound drives you nuts and you currently have a loud pump, I'd buy the combo of the Red Lion and this check valve...... It's been great and I can't recommend it enough. Install was super easy as well; 3 wraps of teflon tape, thread it into your pump outlet and clamp it to your existing ABS or PVC pipe and you're good to go. Couldn't be easier. I've had this installed for about 3 months and it's still quiet and working great.
