3M 1080 Gloss Black Air-Release Vinyl Wrap Roll (1/2ft x 5ft) Review: Waste - Doesn't work as advertised Review: 1080 is thinner and a little more forgiving when having to move around corners. It won't hold up to repeated attempts to adjust it. (5 times maybe?) The 2080 is thicker but more resistant to tearing when adjusting. I would suggest both these types. If you're a beginner I suggest buying both. Also, double your estimated needs. You'll be using some to figure out how to manipulate it. That's inherent in everything. Be more patient than you might normally give yourself. There are times I've had to redo a piece because I messed up at the end. At this moment I'm having to redo a cup holder trim because it bubbled up on the rounded corner. (Angled rounded corners stink) It actually turns into being fun, even if you mess up. I figure it's because you know you're going to mess up, but you're learning something new and you know it will get better. Figure out how far you want to go into "perfection" and be okay with adjusting your thinking. Just depends on abilities. Still fun though! Don't get me wrong, I had my internal swearing moments, but I let my feeling if thinking this is kind of cool take over. I'm making my truck the way I want it! Good product. Slight learning curve which is normal. Work in an environment that is as dust free as possible. Don't worry about putting your fingers all over the adhesive. It stays tacky. Try to adhere as much vinyl you can before using heat. The heat helps it attach but also gives you a few seconds to stretch and get rid of creases aka fingers. Otherwise, have fun! And if you've never used a heat gun...its not comparable to a hair dryer. It's lava hot. I have 3 new burn marks to prove it. 😳 You can see if a hair dryer works...which on the highest setting I think it can. The heat gun has metal on the end and that was my undoing. Good luck!

Good quality vinyl that was easy to apply to my bike to black it out completely. My bike was mostly black with a red accent, and I covered the red accent with the black vinyl to black it all out. Good price and it was easy to apply.

I recently made some very deep scratches in the paint of my road bike when my chain came off and got jammed between the bottom b racket area and inner chain ring. I tried touching it up with some paint, but the damage was too great. So instead, I ordered this gloss black 3M vinyl film and carefully cut a piece for the area that was damaged. I'm thrilled with the results. Unless you look for the edges, this film looks nearly identical to the paint. And once I put the chairing back on, no one will ever see the edges or detect any damage. Great film, and so far it is staying well adhered too the bike frame,
