Awesome with one adjustment
My senior dog's back legs are failing and his coordination is getting progressively worse due to a degenerative neurological condition. Most days, he cannot stand up without help or walk without falling. I'm 5'3" and 110 lbs so lifting a 70+ lb dog has been a major challenge. Other harnesses put pressure on his stomach or were too bulky and uncomfortable for him to wear for very long. This harness has literally been the only thing that has actually worked. There is an issue with the straps loosening as others have mentioned. I added ponytail holders and it completely solved the problem. I used the regular Goody brand covered bands in the medium size. Since they're black, they blend into the straps and they're covered so they don't pull my dog's fur.I adjusted each strap to the right place then wrapped one ponytail holder 3 times just below the clasp to keep the strap from sliding. To keep the neoprene cushion in place under the legs, I added another ponytail holder to each of those as well.I use the harness to lift or support my dog countless times every day and nothing has moved! The harness and handles have remained sturdy and strong. Everything is lightweight and soft enough for my dog to wear. I have also washed it by hand and it is still in perfect shape. In spite of the fact that I needed to make that adjustment, I am still giving this harness 5 stars. It has single-handedly gotten both my dog and I through a very difficult and emotional time. For anyone in a similar situation, I highly recommend this harness. The medium Goody ponytail holders are inexpensive and available at any drugstore or dollar store. The vet cannot say for sure how much time my sweet dog has left. The harness has helped me get him to appointments and allowed him to retain some of his dignity. Being able to take the occasional slow walk when he's having a good day has kept some fun in his life and given him something to look forward to. At this point, none of that would be possible without this harness.

Just don’t fit right.
I have ordered 2 of these. I measured my 10 year old Boxer and ordered a medium. The back part fit OK but the straps wouldn’t stay secure. The front part was way too small. I sent it back and ordered a large. Both parts fit, after a lot of adjustment. The back straps wouldn’t stay secure. I gave up! I’ll make my own harness for him.

Total Body Harness
Has a handle on the back and on the bottom sections so we can help hold, help, and guide our dog, just what we need to care for him.It is what we needed to buy for our dog’s physical therapy, but it is not as nice as the one the physical therapist used during therapy. The one she has has larger harness area with padding. It seemed more supportive and possibly more comfortable. The handles on her’s are easier to grab, more substantial, and more comfortable to hold onto. This gets the job done but need to be more watchful for rubbing/chaffing during use.RETURNED: We ended up returning this Total Body Harness because we and our pup’s therapist all found it to be difficult to put on the dog and because a different harness (Doggy Stylz ?) was easier and more supportive on our dog. Though I ended up donating that harness (Doggy Stylz ?) to dog rehab clinic and buying a third (different brand and more expensive) harness that works perfectly with our dog and his temporary medical condition) .

Package received is "Medium Fits Chests 17"-28", NOT "Medium fits Chests 22"-37" as on Product Page
This product potentially could be exactly what I need to assist my disabled pet to stand and walk. The padded straps and harness seem to be well designed and relatively flat so my pet can wear it continuously without heavy hardware and padding being "lumpy" beneath her when she is lying down/sleeping. This design improves both front an dback of most other designs except the climbing/backpacking version. In the front the chest pad does not rise up into the neck area to dig into my pet's trachea during forward assist lifting. In the back, the padded straps fit around the thighs rather than under the belly to afford comfortable and proper hindquarter lift support without compressing the internal organs. The plastic clip together fittings are cheaply constructed and would not past or be easily replaceable if this harness were to be removed and replaced daily or often. Since our pet will wear this for the rest of her life, the only potential failure could occur due to lift-assist of her entire body weight - 67 lbs - which we don't intend relying on this harness to accomplish. I have returned this package, ordered the next larger size in the blind, and contacted the Seller. Sadly, after several hours of research and weeks of trying three previous designs, we shall now wait for the Return and Reorder process to complete and hope that the replacement fits suitably if not completely properly.

well worth the money
Have a very large dog who has knee issues and had trouble getting in and out of vehicle and doing steps. This allowed me to assist in getting her in and out, up and down steps. They are well constructed with the proper padding with handles Front and back which are reinforced to lift and control with little discomfort. The strap is very useful.

Your mileage may vary...
Might work for your dog, didn't work for mine. Hoped it would help us get him up (weak hips) but he couldn't get to his feet with this. :-(

Didn’t work for our needs
This product did not work for my dogs needs. We wanted help to get her up on her weak back legs but it pulled her leg up so her feet couldn’t go down to the floor. Possibly her body type but it left me carrying her weight and that’s a problem with my bad back.
