Almost…..
85% of this book was great. I was convinced this was a 5 star mystery. Then it seemed like someone else took over and finished the story. Even though ,mid-wayI had somewhat figured out some of the ending, I still was enthralled with the storyline. Seriously the ending is really stupid, unbelievable and absurd. It’s like the author took every soap opera situation and put it into the final chapters of this book. It’s like he forgot how to write and it’s shame because I so enjoyed “most” of the book.

Fantastic Book
I love reading Murray McDonald’s books because I always know there’s going to be a surprise ending and he did it again with 23. Murray’s one of my favorite authors.

Not worth it...
This book is crazy. SPOILER ALERT: It starts off with someone recounting their last moments and then retreats to months back. The climax is totally unbelievable, as a "dead" person is found to be alive.

What a ride… absolutely brilliant!
McDonald does it again. A book with dramatic character building, twists and turns you’ll never expect, and a finish that makes it all worth it. Nothing in this book is what you expect.

I didn't see that coming.
Kay is working as the new deputy in Vinalhaven, Me., as bodies start piling up.A town who can't remember a murder suddenly has 6! And it appears none have any connection. The ending was.......unusual, to say the least. Where does it go from here?

Twists and turns
The author did a good job hiding the true killer and why the people were targets. I will be trying another of his books.

Oh My Goodness!!
From the beginning to the very end I was constantly gripped by the endless twists and turns that would make my jaw drop left, right and centre. Some authors that try to shock their audience too much, end up having a book that makes little sense and you feel that it was just a failed attempt to keep the reader interested, when really there is no real relevance or it has little to do with the progression of the story line. This really is far from that!It is clear that the plot has been cleverly thought through and is taking the audience through the same level of surprise as some of the characters (which is high).Although it is defiantly a thrilling read, it does give you a genuine inclusivity, like you are part of the action which is very difficult to finding other books.I take a long time to read a book, as I pick it up and put it down through many months, this was most defiantly not the case with ’23’. for the books hearty girth, it was something that I found very difficult to put down and was finished before I knew itIt really is so nice to read something that you can’t predict the ending before it has even begun!

Worth a read, but a tough subject.
This was an OK read, although I guessed the direction the story was going about a third of the way through. Quite a tough subject which may effect some, but something that shouldn't be ignored. Only unanswered question I have is What was the Key for?

Brilliant!
I came across Murray McDonald through my brother in law (and his wife) who used to work with him in a wholesalers! They were surprised to discover that he had taken to writing novels after a chance meeting one day. They asked if I had read his books, I hadn't because I don't read. However, I was intrigued. Since then I have read every one of his books and they are all the same, in that, you simply can't put them down; 23 was no exception! The ending was excellent! I needed sleep but at 25% of the book still to go, I couldn't put it down and I was not disappointed, even though I paid the price the following day, it was still worth it!

Unbelievable
Truly unbelievable but not in a good way. The characters are shallow and unreal, the plot is clichéd in places and unbelievable in others,as for the end.......well that goes way off the scale. This is one of those books that makes me wish that I had watched a movie instead, and that's saying something because I like reading.

Terrible
After so many great stories this just seemed to be written by someone else. I have read his other books several times as they are so good but this one left me bored.
