Lots of clever ideas for tea time or dessert
I am just delighted with this cookbook. These small treats are easy to make, and charming to serve. So many people don't want a big dessert at the end of a meal, so these little treats make a lovely finish to a meal. They are also easy to take along to a gathering, attractive and easy to serve. If you give a tea party, these treats will take a place of honor. Lots of fun for kids as well as big people. The photographs in the book are quite helpful.

Petite Sweets: Bite-Size Desserts to Satisfy Every Sweet Tooth
I often think about what kind of literary voice a cookbook author is striving for before I read the cookbook for the first time. In the case of Beatrice Ojakangas, who wrote "Petite Sweets," as a "James Beard Cookbook hall-of-fame author" I'm sure she wanted to sound authoritative as in "I know my stuff," but to me, once I read through the whole book, she also sounded 'motherly." An unusual voice for a cookbook author. While there are no nutritional tables in the book to let her readers know how much one of her bite-size morsels will cost them in ounces and/or pounds when they reluctantly step on a scale, you can tell from some of the recipe's ingredients, such as in "Angel Cakes with Lemon Sauce," which makes 24 servings, that it won't put you into a deep, dark, depressing funk because you lost control and ate one or two.Learning how to downsize desserts, your own, or making Little Cakes, Petite Pies & Tarts, Fruit & Berry Desserts, Mousses and Chilled Desserts, Creams, Custards and Frozen Desserts to Pastries and Sweets from her dessert recipe book with gorgeous photographs by Roger LePage is one of the newest food trends and Ojakangas is leading the way with her 2009 thin but masterful book.Buy the book, try all of the recipes if you can find the time and enjoy eating one of each or sampling several. Take Ojakangas and her publisher's word for it, that's good advice. Maybe even - motherly?

Lots of pictures...
I was looking for a book that had lots of pictures in it because I choose what to cook based on the pictures. I'm glad I bought this. Almost every recipe has a picture. And the recipes look very easy. The ingredient lists are not so long and instructions seem pretty easy to follow. Nothing too fancy to make. I'll be trying these soon.

Easy to use, pleasing to the senses..
Perfect for impromptu get together, or an after school snack. Recipes on this book only has 3 to 5 ingredients only that are a staple for baking and a mainstay in most kitchens. Procedures are easy to follow and yields a pretty big bunch of goodies. One of my favorites and at my office as well is the Coconut Rum Butter Cakes. The pictures in the book gives you an idea how pretty and of obviously delectable your sweet confection will turn out, Worth every penny, one of the most used cook books I own!

Cute book. Cute little desserts.
Great little book to add to my collection. I like the looks of at least half the recipes so far. Some I've never heard of. Smaller size book. Nice glossy pages. Color photos. Clear instructions. Mine came with a dust cover (hard bound book). The little choco cups pictured on the front; however, are not in this book. I think the filling is. I watched a video on youtube to find out how make the chocolate cups.

Wonderful
This book is the best book I have read that is for small amounts. The recipes are ones I would be proud to serve others. Finally someone has written a book for people who enjoy baking but do not want to eat on the same thing until they are sick of seeing it or wasting food. I know I will make most of the recipes. Check this book out you will not regret it. Congratulations to this author on a great book that's just what I was looking for.
