I used the product for making a hidden T-nut. Although they are sized in metric, I found they work well for some Imperial sized drills.

I could not use these with a hand-held drill. The bit walked all over the work piece. They are effective only with a drill press.

The quality isn't bad, but if you are looking for a true fit (ie, 1/2") look elseware. Being that they are a universal fit between metric and standard you will likely be disappointed.
