This Blu-Ray DVD Combo Pack of The Transformers: The Movie Truly is More Than Meets The Eye
I remember watching all 98 episodes of the original 1984 classic cartoon series The Transformers when it was streaming on Netflix, yet at the time, Netflix didn't have the animated The Transformers: The Movie streaming with the series set 20 years after the end of season 2 before season 3 of the cartoon, which season 2 took place in 1985, making this film take place in the now old year of 2005. I couldn't watch the movie when Netflix had the original Transformers cartoon before it was taken off of the streaming platform, so when I finally got the complete series on DVD by Shout! Factory now know as Shout! Studios and got this 35th anniversary Blu-Ray DVD Combo Pack of this movie to complete the rest of the series, I was blown away with the movie when I have finally watched it after rewatching all of seasons 1 and 2 on DVD. It really is an epic movie that kicks off the events of season 3 of The Transformers cartoon. I so want to tell anyone reading this review on what happens in the movie, but that would be too long a review and I shouldn't spoil anything about it so as if you want to buy it and watch it, you can be surprised for yourself. The main part of this review is mainly the Blu-Ray DVD combo pack itself and how good the it is put together. To start off, let's start off with the Blu-Ray and picture quality of the print. The film on the Blu-Ray disc is presented in a standard full frame presentation for this 35th anniversary edition. According to my research on this film, the animators actually drew the film in full frame, then before it was released in theaters in 1985, the animator's cut off part of the top and bottom of the motion picture to create a widescreen version for theaters. In this 35th anniversary Blu-Ray edition, you are actually getting the original full frame picture of the movie and it looks great with the Blu-Ray quality enhancements done to it. As for the DVD that comes with this Blu-Ray with the same movie on it, it is the 30th anniversary DVD edition of the film and is therefore presented in the theatrical widescreen format that has part of the top and bottom of the picture cut off to create the widescreen effect as I have mentioned already. I haven't tried out the DVD yet at the time of this review, but I may check out the DVD eventually to compare both the full screen and widescreen versions of the film. Also, there is one more easter egg to the Blu-Ray DVD combo pack that was mentioned in another review of this movie here on Amazon and is exclusive to the Blu-Ray DVD combo pack and is not available for the 4K remastered version: the cover art for the 35th anniversary edition Blu-Ray is double sided, with the 35th anniversary edition cover art on one side that you will see shipped to you if you do buy this on Amazon, and the reverse side has a very faithful recreation of the original VHS video cassette box art with the theatrical poster on the front with some updates done to it to fit the Blu-Ray case dimensions for all retro Transformers enthusiasts out there who grew up with the VHS video tapes back then. Now that retro style cover art for this Blu-Ray DVD combo pack for this movie is just prime! I will definitely be having this retro style cover art for my copy of this movie out at all times for my collection. I have photos of this Blu-Ray DVD combo pack attached to this review so anyone reading this review can see what is included and see both cover artworks for this movie. This is a very epic Blu-Ray release of this film and if you are wanting to see the entire series with the Shout! Factory DVD box set, you should definitely not miss this one to complete the whole series. This Blu-Ray DVD combo pack of The Transformers: The Movie has earned my full five star rating. I highly recommend this product to any die hard Transformers fan like me out there. That concludes my review for this product. I hope you liked it, and remember, til all are one!

Major nostalgia
I was so glad to find Transformers: The Movie on blu-ray, since it isn't available for rent on any of the streaming platforms that I normally use. I was instantly transported back to my childhood!

Good movie, great amazon customer service
I'm giving this 5 stars because the initial issues were resolved, and therefore don't require a subtraction of a star.Initially I had Ordered this movie a couple days ago. Received the initial shipment yesterday, and the 4K disc was a bad disc. It locked up during the scene of Starscream ejecting Megatron from the ship. This happened on two different players at the exact same spot, and even after cleaning the disc. In my experience, usually a player problem would happen at random, and with a specific player. Disc problems are consistent and can affect different players both the same, and also differently (in this case same issue, same part of the movie)Anyway since I rarely have disc playback problems, I was pretty sure this was a bad disc, so issued an exchange, and the replacement came today. My initial hunch was correct as the new disc played perfectly. So 5 stars to Amazon, and 5 Stars to the movie. As far as the movie goes, I'm a transformers fan as well as a fan of 80's movies and cartoons / TV shows, etc as a whole. I own the standard blu-ray of this movie, and wanted to try the 4k upgrade. I typically don't buy UHD titles for 4k alone, but for HDR, which for me makes the biggest difference, and really to be honest, is the biggest difference in my experience. In fact, if they started mastering standard Blu-ray with HDR, I would be completely satisfied. Some Technical details:I own two UHD players, a Sony UBP-X800, and a UBP-X700. I'm aware of the problems people have reported about Sony players, however Sony has always been a good and dependable vendor for me.I'll leave the tech details at this, because it was a disc issue, so only the player specs matter here.I really liked how the new presentation of the film turned out. HDR really brightened up the movie as a whole and made it pop over the SDR versions. The soundtrack is good. I played the DTS-HD-MA 5.1 track, but the disc defaults to DTS-HD-MA 2.0. You can tell it's an older soundtrack, because of the tone, and the music, and the overall sound. However, I thought it sounded crisp and clear. Not real bass heavy, but it had it's moments when bass lets you know it's there.Closing thoughts:If you're a transformers fan, I'd get this version if you have an HDR / 4k Setup. I don't think you'll regret it.Also, if your disc has playback problems the first time around, and cleaning it doesn't help. Chances are you got a defective disc, and a simple exchange should correct the problem.Overall, hoping with Amazon has always been a positive experience for me. If there is anything else I think I should share, I'll add it later.

Sí pudiera le pondría 6 estrellas.
El clásico de la niñez de muchos. Un remasterizado excepcional en el bluray. Contiene muchos extras muy interesantes y subtítulos en español. El material es el mismo en ambos formatos. Además de portada doble.

Unreal
I was recently watching a DVD version of this with my son and it seems so ancient. It looked as though a VHS had been simply directly transferred to it. It just seemed lifeless.Decided to get the 4K version and so glad I did. What an absolutely incredible upgrade. So many visual improvements made on this release… it’s so vibrant and stunning visually. Work was put it and it shows. It was as though I was watching and experiencing this movie again for the first time; so glad my son was able to experience this particular version.

*Unable to play Blu Ray - Invalid region
Tried on multiple devices including Playstation 4 and 5 and kept getting invalid region. Have had success playing non AU region blu rays and DVDs before. Also downloaded region free Blu Ray player software on PC but it also claimed the blu ray was invalid format.
