Can I install this on a desk with drawers? The underside area of the desk (below drawers) is 3/4 in deep

If I am understanding your description correctly, you are saying there is a ¾ inch thick surface underneath the drawers of the desk. If this is the case, then you have a surface that is thick enough to mount the keyboard tray. The 6 mounting screws are about ⅝ inch long and are used to screw the keyboard track to the underside of the desk. The bottom of the tray when pushed under the desk at it's highest position is approximately 2 inches from the bottom of the desk. Check the other measurements in the product description to ensure your desk has the necessary width and depth to mount the tray. I have been very happy with my tray which I have used daily for the last year.

Does the wrist-rest remove?

The wrist-rest is held in place by 3 screws: 2 short ones and 1 long one that also holds the mouse pad. These screws can easily be removed along with the wrist-rest. I did not install the mouse pad and removed that screw, then removed the short screw in the middle of the pad and it replaces the long screw that held the mouse pad. A replacement screw should be obtainable at a hardware store. I have not done so, because my keyboard and wrist-rest are securely held in place by the outside screws.
