Stains are not used. Maintain with general furniture polish. Individual wood types are as follows: Padauk: Native to Africa, padauk is a very durable wood with a unique reddish-brown tone that may darken a bit with age. The renewable exotic is not an endangered wood. Maple: strong hardwood native to eastern North American with a creamy color. Birdseye variations in the wood are caused by a natural response within the maple to harsh growing conditions.
