It is essential that everyone know their own blood group and that of their family members. There are many occasions when knowing your blood group could be important, for example, if you or a member of your family required an urgent blood transfusion it would be useful to know your blood group in advance. If it was an uncommon group it would allow the hospital valuable time to ensure adequate supplies. Travelling overseas carrying a blood group card could prove invaluable. Accidents and other emergencies can often be dealt with more efficiently knowing the blood group of the person or persons involved. There are 4 main blood groups - A, B, AB and O, of which group O is the most common (47 percent of population). The blood type is determined by proteins called antigens found on the surface of red blood cells. If you have the antigen A on the red blood cells then you have got type A blood. When B antigen is present, you have type B blood, when both A and B are present, you have type AB blood. When neither are present you have type O blood. Another blood group system involves Rhesus factors. The name Rhesus comes from the Rhesus monkeys in which the protein was first discovered. Rhesus factor D, the most important, is found in the blood of 85 percent of people, they are known as Rhesus positive. The remaining 15 percent are Rhesus negative. So people can be classified according to both systems, for example AB positive or O negative. We have also included 1 extra lancets free of charge in this pack. The reason for this is that the lancet that is included by the manufacturer is a single use lancet and if you accidentally click the button before you are ready or do not get enough blood then the whole test will be ruined. Including an extra lancet with each test means that if this does happen, you have a spare lancet and can still perform the test :) The colour of the lancets may vary from the one shown in the picture.

Accurate results
I already knew my blood type, but I wanted to check my sons, and since there were several tests in this kit, I tested mine again and I got the same result. They’re super easy to use and read.

Accurate...
Took this test last week. I was a little skeptical because of how easy it was.My dr's office ordered me a blood type test which I took this morning. I got the results back and the results confirmed to be the same from this at home test.

It seems complicated.... but it works
For some reason you get a lot of pieces that arent very clearly explained what theyre for. I just ended up using the stick things in the bag and throwing away the other ones inside the package that i could never get to work/figure out what they were for. I used 2 of 3 cards and got the same result so Im happy enough with it. I have the same blood type as my Mama so thats great news at least! Worth the buy if you dont mind sticking yourself or having to squeeze yourself for more blood (you'll need enough for like 4 big drops and my blood kept drying too quickly so the first time I only had a little blood and thats why I needed a retest to be sure Id used enough). It only needs water, the package itself and your blood but it can get a little messy so do it on a hard, easy to clean surface

Watch the Video!
My husband and I both tested. I was the control as I already knew my blood type. The test is fairly easy to use if you watch the video first. Just going by the written instructions would not be as easy. There are no instructions for the extra included lancets; however, we didn't need them. My test came out just as expected. My husband was unsure of his blood type going in (the reason we decided to test) but his suspicians were confirmed. Nice to know for sure! .

Poke your finger and find out your blood type. My neice and nephew loved our science project.

It works
We needed to confirm my husband’s blood type, and this was much faster and easier than scheduling a doctors appointment (and way cheaper!).

Easy to use but make sure you read directions first!
I would I would also recommend using the test validation circle part 1st to get used to what needs to be done. It is also good to make sure you get a nice good prick and get enough blood or you will be doing multiple pricks on your finger.The laminate pc they give you to cover the blood test results as just too small and it doesn't fit the kit. Simple to read
These are very easy to use and to read. Word of advice do NOT push hard on the lancet device. Luckily ( I guess) I am diabetic to I just used my own device. The once that are included poke very hard.
