Crumbly but better tasting than I expected
There are various aspects of a product like this to factor into a review.First, the taste was better than I expected. It is not a "hold your nose" and eat it nutrition or survival bar. However, it is not good enough -- in light of the high fat content -- for this to be a regular snack.Second, the texture. They are very crumbly, but not overly dry. I was trying to cut off pieces for my family to sample and found it easier to just break off the pieces that I wanted.Third, the shelf life -- five years -- is great. It's a nice product to add to our family's earthquake supplies and not have to worry about rotating for a while.Fourth, the nutrition is what you want in an emergency bar. High calories and high fat.Bottom line: as an emergency ration you can put away for a while and not wince when you may need them, Millenium Bars are a good product. I am skeptical many will decide to make them a regular part of their diet.Note: Watch out for the shipping rates unless you are buying a large quantity.

Useful bar
Cool prepper bar, but got my order wrong.I ordered lemon and vanilla and only received the vanilla flavor.

Flavoring not as advertised, otherwise as advertised
I bought these to try out prior to investing in a stash. The packaging on these bars is a sturdy vacuum pack, which should hold up nicely to almost any wear and tear. Packaging and expiration dates were clearly stated. The inaccuracy comes from the flavoring. There are several flavors available, however all three I tried had a coconut base which overpowered the intended flavor. I dislike coconut, and had been trying to avoid coconut flavored products. I could not find anything on the listing about coconut as an ingredient, which was disappointing.I know the argument always goes - in an emergency, you won't care about taste, which is likely true. However, if so many other things have gone wrong, not dreading your food supply may be a small comfort.

The BEST tasting emergency bar
Let's get this into perspective. Emergency food in general is not a homecooked meal. It's meant to be a taste acceptable source of nutrition when there's an emergency. With this in mind there are a few big names in the "emergency food bar" category. Datrex and Mainstay are two of the more popular brands. I've tasted these and others and they will do what they are supposed to do in an emergency when no other food source is available. However if you care about having a better tasting alternative and some variety the Millenium bars are by far the best. There are several different flavors, they have equivalent nutritional value to the other bars and the taste and mouth feel is much better than the others. I use these in my "go pack" in the car. Highly recommended!
