not strong at all. It's just a cushion with out a cover. I have another type from this site that is much better

Could this be useful inside the actual cushion? Mine is dented in the middle. I need something for inside, not under.

yes, I think it could work if the dent is in the middle as the foam section is the size of a typical cushion. Just put in under the cushion; you will not see it from the front. Do not think it would work well if you tried to stuff it into a cushion cover.

Can it be cut to size? The seat of my chair is curved and a few inches narrower toward the back.
