Found Max quite nasty to emilia in the beginning little unnecessary. However he turned it around in the end which I’m grateful for as I don’t think Emilia deserved his BS. Hope we get to know more about them as the ending was good for them as a couple but not the running story of the family drama

A complete stand-alone story, in a new mafia world. This book is a revenge marriage/ forced marriage story. Maximus is the anti-hero out to settle scores against him enemy - Emilia's father, in a determined and sometimes brutal way. This story is dark, suspenseful and edgy. Maximus and Emilia's story is a bumpy ride, but the route to an unconventional HEA is pretty satisfying.

Beautiful story. I’m glad I’ve decided to read this book as I’ve been a little disappointed with the mafia books lately. Even though there are warnings regarding the sex scenes, they are not bad, I’ve read worse. I’ve already dwded and read the 2nd book, and now waiting for the release of the 3rd book. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️

Well this is a good start to a series . It held my interest all the way through . Emilia and Maximus . What a combination . Dark. And Light . This story was really good and well worth reading .

I liked the whole mafia storyline in this book and of course how dark and controlling Max was, for me though I just struggled with Emelia, she was so submissive and I like my heroines a bit more feisty.The story had a great plot though!

The beginning took a little while to get into but once the first couple of chapters started going, very good. Will suggest

I loved the book, but it seems unfinished. I know it’s the first of 4, but I’m a bit disappointed, I wish there’s more of them two. I mean, there so many loose strands. Starting number 2 now and hoping I’ll have my closure

This is the first story i've read by this author. I enjoyed it a lot, although there are places I would have liked more depth. I liked the strength of the FMC. All the characters, in fact, felt very realistic.

Great read, from waking up in the middle of the night with a man in her room, to the many adventures that follow. There is a happy ever after for Emilia even with the dark underworld ever present.

It started of well. Loved the chemisty between the main character even when the H is the epitome of being a Villan and humiliates the h. Liked the way their relationship progresses and how she turns his darkness into light. Took away 0.5 stars for the way it ends. Yes it has a HEA but I just found the ending too lame after the whole build up.

I enjoyed the storyline, the characters, and the steamy parts of the story. The part I didn't enjoy was the unbelievable timeline. From start to finish, all of this happened in the course of a week.

It’s been a while since I read a story that elicited the depth of emotions that I want in a story.The anger, sadness, pureness of Emilia’s character was expressed beautifully within this storyline.Maximus was a true alpha character. The depth of his hate and wish for revenge and control was a prefect balance to Emilia’s.I would recommend this book for it spice and story of the strength of spirit.
