Starry Night Complete Space & Astronomy Software

Not what we expected. Just a little disc in a white sleeve. Not impressed.

okay....my original post is do not buy this (should have added if you ever had a copy of starry night) as it keeps defaulting and giving me a key for a copy 10 years old that i no longer have.the customer service is first rate. my calls were answered in a matter of seconds, and when i needed to be escalated to the software maker, that service was on the ball helping me in about 3 hours of me contacting them.they have moved heaven and earth (no joke) to help me resolve the issue and get the software working. i would recommend this software.about the software: you set the location you are at, and it gives you the sky as you would see it horizon to horizon without trees. if you live where there are trees you will see less of it but you can still find what is up above. with a calibrated compass, you can set it and with a timer, follow the planets, stars and other objects in the sky and observe them over time. the combination of the exceptional software and features included, you can become well acquainted with the night sky and find things you want to observe

It's a bad program. It has lots of glitches that there tech team cant seam to fix. On top of that this is just a teaser program. Most of the programs data is not there, if you want to look at the solar system that's all you're going to get. Other versions can let you hook up your telescope and track stars so they say, but with all the glitches in the program I would not connect it to anything. You're better of going to Google sky its free. And last it doesn't come with a CD Key good luck keeping it reregistered.

We choose the rating we did because, basically, we have never been able to view or enjoy the CD we paid over $50.00 for as a Christmas present for our daughter. We tried to view it on three different computers and with several operating systems and it's blank. We have also been leaving messages with The Green Group LLC to no avail. If this situation could be resolved, we would be happy to change our rating.As of today, the situation was resolved in a satisfactory manner with The Green Group! We sent them back our blank CD and we quickly received a working copy from them. Our daughter is enjoying the CD and is fascinated with the content of it.My husband and I would not hesitate to order from The Green Group again as we did not have to haggle with them to resolve the situation nor did we have to get Amazon in the middle. It turned out to be a positive experience! Thanks, Shaun!!

One might think that complete means the software would have all the regular functions of a astronomy program, but this one does not. It does not have a celestial grid, Rey's constellation's, or a planer view of the solar system. The program is difficult to use, and it would not be good for young people. Essentially, this product is merely a ticket to join their website.

Starry Night has quite a few bugs. Program reports that my resolution is too low. My resolution is set High and is displayed on a hidefinition monitor. Mouse display on screen is incorrect. Do not recommend this product.

I am still trying to figure out all the ins and outs of the software as the instructions are not really user friendly. But I am able to see my night sky -- now if i could only figure out to see some biblical night skies over other areas.
