Shame about the instructions
Once I'd researched how to use this (that God for YouTube!) This unit worked well and virtually eliminated the crackles and pops caused by static electricity.

Static Killer
Unfortunately the small neon tube device that fits in the end of the Milty to check it is functioning didn’t work on delivery. However I have tested it by other means and device is actually working so that’s not really an issue.I took a record and held it close to a thin strip of paper which swung toward the record due to static. A few trigger pulls from the Milty and the attraction is gone. The record which I had previously cleaned but still had crackles which I had always put down to damage now is virtually crackle free. Listening enjoyment is much improved. Another thing I have noticed is that my stylus is picking up more dust from the record. Presumably because the dust is no longer stuck to the record now that the static charge had been removed. Some have criticised the plastic build comparing it to a child's toy but it is substantially built and has some weight to it. Nothing like the flimsy product I had been led to expect. You must remember that the trigger should be pulled slowly and smoothly. If you hear clicks you are doing it too fast. With new records costing £30 the cost of this device seems reasonable in view of the improved listening experience it provides. Recommended.

Works well, but very poor instructions.
I have bought this to replace my original MK I Zerostat that was many years old. This product works well if it is used in a correct and precise way. The instructions that come with the product are almost useless and the user must search numerous YouTube videos to get proper instruction. This product has been on the market for over 40 years and it is not cheap, so it is high time the manufacturer addressed the failure to provide useful instructions.

It used to really work.
Update 15/05/24: 4 months on from my purchase of this antistatic gun it has stopped working. Unfortunately I dropped it on to a hard floor It was excellent when it was working, but if all it takes to break it is a fall from height, then it is extremely fragile. So beware. I have dropped the star rating to 3 and I have purchased another one because it does work, so I’ll keep you posted on how this one fares. It really works!
