Against the Wild (The Brodies Of Alaska) Mass Market Paperback – April 27, 2021

This book was wonderful.. Alaska is one of my dream adventures. I was able to see and feel the ocean breeze and beautiful mountains, flowers, animals. I can live vicariously thru these magical books. Kat Martin is a wonderful author. You will love all her books too😍

I have enjoyed all of Kat Martin's Against romantic suspense series. I've enjoyed some more than others. I usually don't reread these stories but they keep my interest. I liked both the hero and the heroine. Dylan was honorable and had been born in Alaska and knew how to survive on the land. Lane was a kind but savvy businesswoman from LA. I liked the descriptions of Alaska and how Lane came to love the land. The mystery was good and I enjoyed trying to guess what would happen next. I thoroughly enjoyed the supporting characters. The little girl Emily was precious and my heart went out to her when she was trying to recover from tragedy that took her voice away. I also loved Finn! I love pets in stories and he was a great character in the story. I enjoyed meeting Caleb and rooted for his happily ever after too. We also meet Nick, Dylan's burnt out police detective brother, whom I'm sure will get his very own story and happily ever after. I'm looking forward to reading about the other two Brodie brothers. This was interesting and I enjoyed the mystery and suspense. Like another reviewer I do wish the love story had not been based on sex at first but I find it hard to find a contemporary story where love comes before the sex. All in all, good story w some romance and a good mix of mystery and suspense and family and friends in the wonderful state of Alaska.

I absolutely loved this book and couldn’t put it down. Loved how quickly Dylan falls for Lane. They were great together and loved how she falls for him and his daughter Emily. Stayed on edge, as there appears to be a haunting and possibly a stalker situation. There’s also a murder, so much action. Had some tears for Emily towards the end. Also had some happy tears in their happy ever after. I highly recommend this book.

It's a great book by an excellent author! That being said, I am so glad Amazon came out with a special so I could continue reading the "Against" series at a great price. Against the Wild takes us to Alaska. That is really exciting because we are out of the cities and into the wilds of forest, bears, rain and chill. Kat Martin always brings some romance and intrigue into her books and I love it. Lane, an interior designer, heads to Alaska to help finish and decorate a renovated lodge now owned by Dylan Brodie. He met her through his cousin down in Los Angeles and was eager to get her to Alaska. Dylan has a little girl named Emily while Lane has her dog, Finn. We read about murder, kidnapping, schizophrenia, heartache and romance. How can you lose? This author is guaranteed to entertain in all of her "Against" books. Love them.

Dylan and Lane were from different worlds! That was their angst from start to finish! It droned on and on, ad nauseum!Their love story was sweet and heartfelt! Kat Martin wrote some great backstories, and cast of characters were mostly kind and supportive people!Some of the threads in the story were compelling, but the central mystery (with it's big build up) was disappointing!3.5 stars and a good solid read!

This book was an awesome read that really drew you into the story. I have read slot of Kat Martin books and this was really good. It had romance and mystery and the characters were well defined.

This would have been a good suspense without the romance but I'm glad it was a combination of both so it had a happy ending.

I like her books

A great read with lots of drama, mystery, a murder and heartfelt love. A little girl embroiled in the loss of her mother has lost her voice, a father unable to help her, a young woman who who finds danger in the beautiful wilds of Alaska and a great writer who brings it all together in yet another great read.!!! I have her next book ready to go.

I enjoyed reading this book so much. The author has written it in such a way that you can see the scenery , and it seems to me that I was standing on the side watching it all.

New author for me. I enjoyed this book it was well written and full of drama and intrigue. Would definitely read more from this author.
