The Only Study Guide You'll Ever Need: Simple tips, tricks and techniques to help you ace your studies and pass your exams! : Bowler, Jade: desertcart.co.uk: Stationery & Office Supplies Review: Based on science, relatable & practical - Interested party declaration - I was Jade's A level biology teacher. I bought this book as I suspected it would be useful (let's face it, Jade had totally sussed studying for herself!) but I was not expecting it to be so easy to read as well as explaining the science of learning and studying so well. Jade does not shy away from the fact that hard work is essential to do well, but writes with a unique authority as someone who has gone through the system (and it is that) recently. No teacher could have written the book and have the same impact, even if they knew as much about revision as Jade does. And few teachers seem able to advise students in such a holistic, yet practical way. I agree with the other teacher parent - this would be a useful book to be given to every secondary school pupil, because it is written with authority, as well as very importantly, compassion. The focus of this book is the well-being of the student and them making the very best of the imperfect system they are in. Well done Jade 😊 Review: Loved it, so useful - Absolutely loved this book, now re reading because the information is so useful, I really love the way it’s presented and explained in a kind and beginner friendly way, whilst also presenting more complex concepts to do with studying. I’m currently in my GCSE years, and from a students perspective this book is such a handy guide. I have only watched Jade’s youtube for a few months but her content inspired me to buy this book, and I don’t just love it because of who wrote it but also as it’s such a great resource for students to navigate the education system, even unpicking mental health issues surrounding school, which I found comforting and helpful. 100% would recommend, reading this book makes you feel prepared and mentored, and completely changed my perspective towards school and motivation to study.

Bought for my child starting secondary school
The only reason I've given this four stars rather than five is that I'm not the intended audience for the book and therefore am perhaps not best placed to comment on how effective it is. I purchased the book because I like Jade's content on YouTube and thought her advice, condensed into book format, would be useful for my children as they approach GCSEs. When I was studying for my O Levels (yes, that's how old I am!) I could find very little to help me approach studying and revision and I would have devoured a book like this. I found the structure of the book logical, easy to read and simple to absorb the key messages. Working in a corporate career, I've read many of the books Jade mentions and I think she did a great job of distilling the most useful parts - particularly in relation to the chapter on habits. The balance between technique and psychology, including mental health, makes the book more rounded than a simple summary of tips and tricks. The key takeaway from the book may be one students find difficult to hear, but is critical: don't shy away from the 'hard' aspects of studying. It may feel gratifying to read, review, highlight etc but if you don't focus on what you find most challenging and be prepared to apply some rigour to testing and applying the knowledge, you won't get the best you're capable of achieving. I don't agree with the earlier review that highlights the apparent contradiction between Jade's criticism of the educational system, and then going on to tell the reader to exploit it. Frankly: we have the system we have, and if you're prepared to get the best out if it, you give yourself more choices for your future - and that's a clear message I took from the book.

Best study guide I’ve read, for sure.
I’m starting Year 13 next year and was interested in this book to improve my study methods. I was worried it would be boring or full of advice I’ve heard before, especially because I’ve read most of the study guides around, but wow. This was by far the best one. The tips were original, the storytelling style made it feel relatable, and the parts about being scared of failure resonated with me. I loved how it went into the science of learning!! So interesting. It felt like the author really understood what it’s like to be a student — something that every other study guide I’ve read misses. They either romanticise school or don’t address the stress which can make it so hard to do well. Definitely give it a read!! It will totally revolutionise how you study and approach school. I’m gonna smash next year 💥

A Great Summary of Study Skills
I came across this book via Ali Abdaal's channel on Youtube. Jade had the book on sale at a very remarkable 4£ at launch and this was irresistable. Jade's book lives up to the hype. It is an excellent overview of study skills and very well presented - with short stories interspersed throughout. One main criticism I would have is that in one or two places, the content is unsuitable for young children, and so this would stop me recommending the book to young students. Notwithstanding, the examples in the book are excellent throughout. Fair play to Jade for making it available at such a neat price!

Every student needs this book
As a parent of teenagers and a teacher, I am really impressed with this book. I have read quite a few study guides but this one really is the only one you will ever need. It should be given to every child in secondary school. Easy to read and solid practical advice that works. What else do you need? Buy the book and crack on.

Highly recommended by a Head of Sixth Form
I am a Head of Sixth Form and have just purchased a number of these books for my sixth formers - it is a fantastic resource, I think it should be pre requisite reading before starting A Levels. The tips and advice about how to revise effectively (and how not to) are so helpful and it is so well written and explained very clearly.

I haven’t fully finished this book, but all that I have read so far is filled with the most helpful tips and advice a high school senior could possibly hope for. I love Jade’s youtube channel and I decided to buy the book, and it was the best decision I could have made. I’m not gonna say just reading and learning about the techniques will change your life immediately, because I would honestly be lying. You have to actively apply them into your daily life to see their magic work. I’m still struggling with that part actually lol. I know that it takes a lot of time, practice and mistakes to get it right though. My school life is immensely better due to this book. Thank you Jade, sending you lots of love <33
