Plugged it in, turned on the light switch and it works like a charm. Doesn’t get any easier, remote works without any issues. I like the preset percentages too for the light intensity. 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. Remote works from inside the house.

I have 2 of these controlling 2 light strings and they work perfect. They only have one type of remote and it sets both dimmers the same. You can't have separate light strings set to different levels. However, they sometimes have an issue with a different dimmer that is used to set a different level on a third light string. When the third string is set to a different level, one or both types of dimmers, sometimes start acting erratically. They flash or won't respond. This doesn't happen very often, so I live with it. Something I like is that when it's turned on with the remote, it returns to the dimming level it was at when it was turned off, either with the remote or disconnected from commercial power. The only thing I wish it would do, is if it was ON when commercial power is turned off then on, it would return to ON. Sadly, it defaults to OFF and can only be turned on with the remote. Anyway, it works and I'm happy.

This is by far the biggest piece of junk sold on Amazon. this item has never worked properly from the first day of installation. turns itself on for no reason and will not shut off. I replaced the battery to see if that was the problem. definitely DO NOT BUY.

Works for programmed times, but you must turn it on every night - it won’t program to come on automatically. It will do a dusk to dawn auto feature but I am not interested in that. It is good at dimming, which is my primary interest.

The dimmer works on our string of lights under the deck very well. Really like the remote!
