Greatly simplifies rework of all kinds!
Good for removing complex SMD but also effective at large pin through-hole devices that soak up a lot of heat!

It does work
I needed to replace a surface-mount Mini-USB jack on an Arduino Nano. I followed the directions, first applying the flux and then melting the alloy on all pins and tabs. With a little additional heat the old part popped right off. It's important to clean up any remaining residue or it will interfere with re-soldering. It saved me from buying an expensive SMD rework station.

Works great on keys but not membranes
I purchased this product to repair my vintage Amiga keyboard. I applied the product on the dead keys rubber pads making an even surface. Once dry they worked perfectly.Unfortunately I cannot say the same thing about fixing traces on the membrane itself. No matter how I apply the stuff it does not work. I guess it works for the keys because you apply some pressure on them to make contact and this is not true for those cut traces on the membrane.

This stuff works! A real life saver for PCBs.
It really works! A little bit on the leads and the part lifted off the board with no damage to either the msop8 or the board. Kit comes with *everything* you need, except perhaps solder wick. I recommend you use a little of the supplied flux and the solder wick to remove the old solder before applying the ChipQuik solder. It doesn't take much solder, just a blob over the leads, to lift the part off the board.
