Finally, a worthy successor to the PST.
I got an original PST (and a mini) back in the early 90s, and it was my treasured companion through many adventures, backpacking through Europe, hiking the Northeast, and a worthy accomplice for breaking and fixing many things along the way. After 9/11, I had to stop carrying a knife on the daily, since I would inevitably lose it in the airport. I lost my mini this way, and have been a jealous guard of my PST since, keeping it in my hiking pack where it will never see an airport or a metal detector.Leatherman has come out with many models since, but none had the rugged simplicity of the PST. I got a Fuse out of necessity, and it's made in China, a few material layers thicker, and had some useless rubber handle features and extra blade locks. I started searching EBay for PST replacements in case I lost my last one, since the modernized Chinese-made versions are NOT the same as the original. The Bond IS that PST, or might as well be. Other than the missing 'Made in Oregon' stamping, it's the same rig... the same excellent pliers, the same capable blade, the badass file that eats metal. It lost the lanyard loop and gained a thumb grove for the knife blade - a reasonable trade - , it gained some rivets for the hinge, but it has the same winning form factor, the slim nose detail that makes it pocketable, as its granddaddy.I'm buying a bunch of spares to stuff in a drawer in case I lose my PST... and if I'm wrong and manage to keep it until the very end, my heirs can fight over these replacements at my wake.

Love!
My daughter loves this! We got one for my son, my daughter wanted one too. As an adult on her own she said she uses it all the time at work, at home, hiking, on the road… so many tools! She carries it with her everywhere. My husband and son do the same. My husband says he uses his almost everyday for so many things. Great gifts, and something you come to depend on.

Usable quality
I’m excited, I put this n my bugout backpack, I used it as my only can opener for a week. It’s light, it’s the quality I’ve been using since the year after Leatherman made and I bought the Supertool- which I sent back to Leatherman for a new file and they sent back a Supertool 300 which I like better and I gave it to my daughter for Christmas. I’ve had a Skeletool for about 5 years, use it a lot. I now have the Surge-which is my go to tool, I have a wave+ I’ve been using for 6 years every day and recently bought the surge , bond and charge +.

Over-priced but well made
I bought this as a replacement for a Leatherman that I had owned for 18 years. I was an idiot and forgot it was in backpack when it was confiscated at airport security. While I would consider this a typical Leatherman in terms of price, it is definitely more basic than my previous tool. The individual tools will meet my needs for quick fixes when I am away from home. The ones that are missing should not be much of an issue. For the price, it seems lower end than I would have expected. However, I hope to get at least 18 years out of this one too.

Leatherman is the best
I have carried a leatherman for years, over 20, a gift from my wife. Then, I misplaced it. Couldn't decide if I really needed another one, but finally bit the bullet and bought this. There are quite a few changes from my original leatherman to this one (same model). Most I think are ok. However, it is very stiff and difficult to open and close. First time with the knife, I cut myself closing it. I am always amazed at how often I reach for it and it is really annoying how difficult it is to open and close. The value of the tool more than outweighs this little annoyance. BTW, I am on my second leather case and this one fits right at home.

Like The Original PST, But Better
I finally lost my PST after ~25 years. Since my primary interest was in the pliers, I got one of the lower end models that was closest to the original. This is improved in every way from the original PST. The edges are rounded, so it can be squeezed harder without killing your hand, the opening mechanism is more solid, and the tools are more thoughtfully arranged. Time will tell if it has the same longevity of the original model, but I don't see any defects that would indicate early failure. One of the big problems with the original was some of the tools could collapse in use. The phillip head screwdriver was particularly egregious. Yea, if it's closed, it won't snap shut on your hand, but that's little consolation after slamming your knuckles into the work surface. All the tools /tend/ to stay put in use with the Bond. If one was using the interior tools all the time, it might be a good idea to get one of the models with locking blades, but for occasional use, the Bond is fine. If used as directed, you won't have amputated digits.So... If you liked the Original PST, this is the same thing but better. It's a good tool at a good price. If you think you want something more. I can't help you. Checkout some of the other models. I've always been happy with Leatherman's workmanship. There's a quality Leatherman available for whatever you want to do.

Small enough to pocket carry everyday.
Fantastic, light weight, compact multi tool. Comfortable in the pocket. Really a nice compromise between size and function.
