Botan, Calrose Rice, 5 lb

Absolutely the best rice I have tasted. Sure, it's not the cheapest but the taste is superb. I finally broke down and bought a rice cooker since we eat so much rice. I have tried many different brands and types of brown rice, but Botan Calrose Rice beats them all on flavor and consistency. The cooked rice is ever so slightly sticky (which I like) and the flavor is without question the best you will find in white rice.

My favorite rice and always will be. It’s a little higher priced than the stores but you get the convenience of delivery which is a trade off, especially during these times.

The Botan rice is always excellent, but this time there was no padding inside the box containing the rice bags. The box was either thrown or dropped, so without padding inside, the 10lb bag popped at the seam, spilling out maybe half the bag inside the box. Too much pressure on the seam. I was refunded for the 10lb portion of the order, so I'm not complaining. I still have the 5lb portion of the package. Put padding inside the box kids. Please. Thanks. I threw out the loose rice inside the box. Take no chances.

My son and I took a sushi making course and the chef specifically recommended this brand. It is available at our local ethnic market but conveniently also on Amazon. I prepared this rice both In a rice maker (Zorushi) and in a pan and the rice came out perfectly both ways when I followed directions for sushi/sticky rice.

I understand Calrose rice has the least amount of arsenic in it than other rices, but I also like the texture of it. It can also be used to make risotto.

There is a no return on this item. I understand that. However, when it arrives damaged I think it should be replaced. Replacement is not an option.

I lived in Hawaii for 7 years. Learned how too make there,, NOT THIS GOOD. ITS ALL ABOUT the rice u use.
