I love runcle reels. I have the horism, the svallet and my favorit Merced. Its beautiful. Has high shiny red and black gloss painted. Low profile match with my Falcon HD Medium rod. Ive been using this for 8 months. Its easy to cast. The thumb release button is very soft and comfortable. I just wish they added the clicking drag like the Horism.

I bought this reel after a 15-year pause in fishing. And it was even longer since I used a baitcaster. At one point about 10 years ago I thought about getting back into fishing. I stopped because of physical issues. I mostly fly fished and I just can't do that anymore. When I thought about getting back into it, I bought a very cheap baitcaster reel from Wal-Mart. When I recently did try to finally use it. You could not even get it to not backlash. Or if you did it would not cast very far. Over 25 years ago I had one and I could cast that. So I knew it was the reel after some frustrating practice. But being on disability does not allow you to spend much on hobbies. When I started to shop around I found Runcl. Sounded too good to be true. But thought I would take a chance. The difference between this reel and the cheap one is major. Even though they were close to the price. When your reel it, it is so smooth. And you can actually adjust it not backlash and still be able to cast it more than 10 feet. The body is plastic and I think it will break eventually. But I am careful with my gear and think it will last a while. If you are rough on gear, you might want to look elsewhere. One thing that was a little disappointing. In all the videos and written reviews and I have seen said they included a small bag for the reel. Mine did not come with one. So you might or might not get one. Not a big deal. Just something that you might expect and not receive. I would recommend this reel. Like said it is super smooth. When both casting and reeling. Try it. You will probably keep it and enjoy it. Just don't drop it much. The plastic body might not hold up well. Time will tell.

I'm new into the baitcaster game and this is my second one. I have a 13 Fishing Modus that came as a combo and love it. So when my wife found me a nice casting pole at a yard sale I figured I'd save some money and buy a cheaper reel, since me being new at it I wouldn't notice a difference. Boy was I wrong. As said in previous review, the tension knob is a joke. I mean it sucks. I don't think I am a fan of magnetic brakes either, my Modus is centrifugal. Basically if your a first time user of baitcasting reels, spend some extra cash and get a good one, otherwise you'll get frustrated and quit. Fish on.

Brake is very hard to adjust.... unlike there other version...Cast great...Min. Back lash...

My husband wanted one since he is right handed I bought a right handed one which he is now thinking left handed would be better. Hes never used a bait caster and keeps getting birds nests when he cast which is frustrating him. We dont know if it's the line or it being the reel. Guess I'm gonna have to get a left handed one and try different line. It feels smooth and quick tho

Salt water surf fishing

This was my 2nd order of a RUNCL Merced reel as the first one has performed very well on walleye and some big catfish. The 2nd reel evidently had a manufacturing issue, but RUNCL made things right immediately. No reservations whatsoever about ordering from them again.
