Volume control knob should be a little larger. Unit construction is well done and performance is good.The unit is new and I'm unable to comment on longevity.

The media could not be loaded. Al hacer la conexión del dispositivo al televisor y luego al equipo de sonido solo hace el ruido del video. Completa perdida de tiempo y dinero.

Worked like a champ; right outta tha box! Recommended!
This DAC did the trick. I needed it for testing the throughput of the optical audio coming from my limited menu TV and inconsistently driving my home theater sound system. Bingo! A few menu adjustments on the TV and the TOSLINK was working perfectly into my earphones, via this Hdiwoup DAC. I verified adequate and quality analog sound using the volume control and then, went on to route the optical digital signal through my AVR''s multiple TOSLNK inputs and tailor my speaker system for full theater performance.This might seem to be a specialized use of this DAC because it was only required for about 5 minutes of diagnostic work. Although the Hdiwoup DAC is not in service, I will keep it on my shelf of test instruments as a proven "detector" to test TOSLINK integrity in the future. At only $16+, it is well worth the money to simplify and streamline troubleshooting optical audio difficulties, especially for an experimenter/tinkerer like myself.Maybe not its intended usage but, IT MAKES A GREAT TOOL. I reccomend this product and its vendor.

A well-built device that works well for a good price.
This is a very nice little converter.I use it to power the active speakers in my TV (instead of low-quality TV speakers).I want it to work with any other device that has a digital optical output.This rather small, exquisitely constructed metal box is equipped with a digital cable and power supply.(Plus, I don't need coaxial cable.)It is very easy to plug the cable into the back of the TV and the other end into the converter box.Then, connect the power supply to the stereo plugs for the active speakers, and we can run normally.

Poor quality control.
Unit came with defective digital fiber optic cable. I had to purchace separately. Poor quality control.
