Amazing Product!!
This has been a lifesaver for my little dog. He is 16 yrs. old and has lost control of his back legs due to a pinched nerve. He pulls himself around the yard still, but couldn't go for walks any more... and that was his favorite thing to do! We are now able to take him on walks and he is so happy, he almost looks like he is smiling. It took him a bit to get used to, but now he has the hang of it he wheels himself all over the yard and can go on short walks. The only thing is he can't go #2, so we make sure he has time to do that before putting on his wheelchair. This is an amazing product, very easy to adjust to fit your pup and durable as well. Thank you!

Dachshund really loves her wheelchair!
This product is just what my ailing dachshund needed. It was not very hard to assemble and fit to her body. There is padding under the side buckles in front so they won't rub her shoulders. It's easy to put her in it; just stick her back legs in, and put her head in between the black padded straps. The red strap goes under the chest and buckles in place. She seems to be very comfortable with the way her legs and rear end are supported. I like that I can adjust wheel height as her legs get stronger and she's trying to walk/run with them more. This dog goes and goes all over the yard chasing her ball as if nothing had ever happened to her back! She is one happy camper. Also, If you needed to pack the wheelchair flat in a suitcase, the wheels come off really quickly with a few twists of a hand-tighten screw. The only thing I don't love is that I have to keep tightening all the adjustment points, especially wheel height. The wheels are secured only with a hand-tighten screw. Also, some of the rubber safety caps that cover the ends of the metal pieces want to come off, and I've had to search the yard for them a couple of times--could be fixed with a little squirt of hot glue, I suppose. If your dog is just motoring around the house you probably won't have these troubles, but if he/she is ramming around a bumpy back yard at full speed, be prepared to keep tightening screws. :-) However, it's a small effort to put forth compared to the happiness you will see in the face of your dog!

So glad I found it
I really like this wheelchair. I have an 8 year old Yorkie who has knee problems. I can't afford the surgery so the vet recommended the use of a wheelchair and glucosamine and aspirin daily. I originally bought a wheelchair on eBay and she hated it. It was for dogs that were completely paralyzed in the rear legs and she is a very active dog whose back legs are just weakened by her condition. I debated for a long time about getting her a custom dog cart or this one off Amazon. I compared the product reviews, price and design. The custom ones for her size cost about $50 more and, to me there wasn't much of a difference in design. I also liked that with this cart, you could readjust it later if her condition changes or her weight fluctuates. It also includes slings for the back in the event that your dog is actually paralyzed, so you can keep the back legs from dragging. It wasn't terribly hard to put together, although the instructions are vague at best. I found a few YouTube videos that helped. She seems to like it a lot better than her old one, since she can used her back legs some and she can also "use the bathroom" while in it. After reading reviews I ordered her the x small. For reference, the box says its for dogs 5-15 pounds. There is an xx-small one available on the Best Friend Mobility website for dogs smaller than this. My Yorkie is about 11" long from neck to nub and weighs 10 lbs. I had to adjust the with of the cart because she is quite narrow.

Find something else
Small screws keep coming loose and falling out. The rubber protective tips that also keep the thing from coming apart fall off easily and are hard to find after the fact. The wheel adjustment screws which allow you to raise or lower the wheels don't hold very well. If you overtighten them you can't easily loosen them up. It's just not well made and is not user friendly.

Useless Don't Buy it !! Seriously it's a very poor Design!
It's terrible my Dachshund front end has hardly any support & the bars used to adjust the wheels height won't stay in position & it slides back to lowest position causing legs to drag & his bottom too!!I tightened as hard as I could it will Not stay up the screws are finger tightened to adjust the height & it's not a good design !My Doxie hates it !!I can't return it so trashing it or using for parts is all its good for !!DONT WASTE your MONEY$$$ !!Honestly it you won't like it!!I wish I never bought it & I would have returned it if I hadn't gotten sick & didn't realize the date to return by was passing !!I wasted $167.00 plus tax & over night shipping too!!I won't recommend this to anyone with a handicap mini dachshund or any breed!!I don't even think it's worth getting one Star!!Happy Paws Dachshunds FB !

Served its purpose, butt it's kind of clumsy.
While it did seem to help our dog recover from what ever caused her back legs to stop working, it was a little difficult to get adjusted to fit her. And somewhat confusing, I might add. She is a miniature dachshund and we never really could get it fit in a way that seemed comfortable to her. In fact, she acted like she didn't want to walk at all when she was in it. It took quite a bit of coaxing. The screws that hold the wheel height adjustment kept working loose so we were constantly having to re-adjust the height and re-tighten the screws. The chest harness and back leg harness are both rather clumsy. We wish we would have looked a little harder before we invested what is probably twice what the thing is worth, butt it did seem to help Lilly get her legs working again so it is better than nothing.

Life changing
Bought this for my mother's chihuahua when he started having trouble standing leading to his inability to walk. This has been life changing for the little guy. Such a joy to see him walk and shake his whole body without falling over! Too many options out there at a higher price. This was a great purchase and assembly was easy enough.

There is measurement instructions could be better
The product looked reasonably constructed, but it could be greatly improved by putting quick release clips in the halter straps of the type used in dog halters. It is very fiddly to put on as it is.The real problem I had was with size. I wanted it for a pug with a large body and short legs. The measurements came out at the lower end of size S and at the upper end of size XS. I ordered S but found it fitted the body but was far too high. Then I tried XS which could be adjusted to the right height but the frame was too narrow and the halter too small. They could definitely give more detailed measurement information.

Amazing product
This product is fantastic and so easy to assemble although it takes a bit of time to adjust straps and wheels etc to fit the dog perfectly. The instructions provided are excellent and very detailed. It is very light weight and seems to fit very comfortably when fitted correctly. It is fully adjustable also which is fantastic to get a perfect fit.I got an extra small size for a 9 year old pug who is losing his mobility due to a degenerative disease. My dog took to it immediately and started running so I took him outside onto the pavement and onto the grass. The wheels have no difficulty at all moving on grass. I cannot fault this product at all.I am so so happy with this wheelchair and so is my pug to be able to get his independence and mobility back.

Help from the seller please?
The screws that attach the shafts to the frame of the wheelchair are impossible to tighten. I've even used araldite and that has worked briefly, but now they're slipping again and my dog has lost confidence in the item. I would be most grateful if the seller would contact me via amazon and give me advice because otherwise the item is superb and my dog absolutely loves the freedom that he gets being able to run around on walks.

Measure correctly.
Brilliant item!!! My dog lost the use of her back legs over night .. shock for all of us.. got told she wouldn't walk again... so I searched for walking aids and this popped up! she is now walking again! This item helped her learn to use her legs again and now walks on her own in her own way.. make sure u measure properly! As I ordered wrong size at first I have a Chihuahua cross with a Yorky... And she needed XS of added a photo so u can see size of her .

It gave my Butter Nutter a new lease of life
A must for any dog owners whose pups are paralysed or cannot walk. Sadly Peanut is no longer with us but she rolled around in her wheelchair for 3 years allowing her to do all the things a doggy could want to do
