This is always my go-to washing machine cleaner. I’ve been using Vamoosh for around 3 years now, and I genuinely rate it above every other brand I’ve tried. Even if you do not have pets, if multiple people use the same washing machine, chances are you have come across that awful washing machine smell at some point. You know the one: that rotten egg, sulphur-like odour that starts creeping in when hair, dirt, limescale, mould and general grime begin to build up. I first tried Vamoosh in 2023 after getting my cat. She is adorable, but her fur gets everywhere. I was sceptical at first because it sounded a bit too good to be true. But after running it through an empty machine on a hot cycle, the difference was obvious. Instead of that nasty stale smell, the machine was left with a light, clean cotton scent. I also checked the rubber seal carefully and used cotton buds to swab a few awkward areas where grime usually hides, and there was barely anything there. I even checked the drain pump filter, where I would normally find hair build-up, and it was impressively clean. For reference, I use a Samsung AddWash washing machine, model WW80K6414QW, with an 8kg load capacity and 1400rpm spin speed. This is how I use it: 1. Make sure the washing machine is completely empty. 2. Clean the detergent drawer thoroughly first. 3. Pour the full sachet into the main wash compartment of the detergent drawer. 4. Run the hottest and longest realistic cycle. On my machine, I use the cotton setting with prewash and bubble soak turned on, temperature set to 90°C, 3 rinses, and 1400rpm. That comes to around 2 hours, which works well. 5. Let the cycle run as normal. 6. Once finished, leave the washing machine door open so the drum can dry out properly and help prevent mould. Final verdict: I will absolutely continue using Vamoosh and recommending it to other people. It has become a staple in my washing machine maintenance routine because it is one of the few products I have used that actually delivers visible and noticeable results without causing any issues to the machine itself. It keeps my washing machine fresh, clean and odour-free, and gives me peace of mind that hair, grime and hidden build-up are being properly dealt with. I have recommended it to pet owners, families, people living in shared households, and even AirBnB hosts, and the feedback has always been positive. For me, it is one of those products that is genuinely worth repurchasing. I have used it regularly for years and it continues to work just as well, with no damage to seals, pipes or any other part of my machine. Appearance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 The packaging is clear, pleasant to look at and practical to use. Warning labels are easy to read, the instructions are laid out clearly, and the sachet itself is simple to open and pour without fuss. Value for money: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Excellent value for money. It can sometimes be a little pricier on Amazon, but it is still worth it for the convenience if you need it quickly. I have also seen it sold in-store for around £2 to £4, which makes it very competitively priced compared with some other leading brands. For such a small cost, the level of cleaning it delivers is fantastic, especially considering how little effort is needed. It is ideal for anyone with a busy lifestyle who wants an easy way to keep their machine clean and fresh.

Absolutely brilliant, we’re renting a house rn and it didn’t seem like the washer that was included had ever been cleaned and it was horrible to use. The washing machine cleaner worked so well and was really easy to use, and now all our washing is so nice and clean. We also have pets and their hair gets everywhere and always seems to be on our washing, and this totally got rid of the issue. Will definitely be buying again!

It works well after washing dog bedding or clothes, removing the wet dog hair smell. After just one wash, my laundry smells like my usual detergent again. It’s easy to use; I normally use a full packet to make sure it works properly, as it needs a longer, hotter wash to be effective. Make sure you read th instructions, heard so many people say it does not work and the machine is not on hot enough!

Mixed results as my washing machine didn’t smell bad before I cleaned it with Vamoosh. I used it exactly as directed but still had to clean the seal afterwards as there was dog hair and some gunk it hadn’t removed. The machine now has an unpleasant smell and I ran a pack of Dr. Beckman cleaner through it yesterday which has improved it. I don’t know if the cleaner stirred up some grot in the pipework but I wish I had left it alone …

Claims to dissolve pet hair but didn't get rid of it all, just the pet hair left on the door (3 dog household). The rubber seals inside look great after using this and it smells alot better than it did before. Will definitely be buying again

This is great! Works a treat. Best so far to keep the machine clean. We live in rural Somerset, so think mud. We have animals, again, mud. And work outdoors whatever the weather (yep…. More mud). These seem to be able to cope with actually cleaning the machine! I recommend!

It’s good, however it doesn’t dissolve all hair. Even at 90 degrees as instructed. Smells nice.

Fantastic product. Easy to use: I used it on a 3.5hr, 90C cycle, and it left the machine smelling fresh, dog hair free and sparkling clean. Would definitely purchase again. In my opinion, the price is reasonable for a product that does exactly what it says, and extends the life and efficiency of our expensive front loader.

Moved into a new house and needed to clean their washer. It smelled so strongly of fabric softener (which I’m allergic to) and the rest of the house was left so dirty that I didn’t want to take any chances. Found this on Reddit and one packet of this has the washer sparkly clean inside and the smell is gone! I put the solution in the detergent dispenser, and ran the washer a second time just to make sure the cleaner solution was gone before testing it in my clothes. Very happy and recommend!
