Engagement and Espionage

Such an excellent book and a wonderful addition to the Green Valley world! I think nearly everyone who's read the Winston Brother series loves Cletus and Jenn, so having a whole 'nother spin off series about them was brilliant on Penny's part.And then she made it a cozy mystery series! So not only do we get more of our favorite couple's romantic journey, we get a fun, mystery in every book!The mystery in this book was on point. She mixed it perfectly with Jenn's job at the bakery and her relationship with her parents. I will wonder forever if Penny plotted Jenn's parents' demise from the very beginning or if this all came to her later. It's all bloody brilliant.There's a little bit language in the end of the book, some sexy times in the very beginning and very end and some violence (though most of the violence is never really experienced on page, it's almost all referenced after it's happened).You should definitely read Beard Science before reading this book, but you don't need to read the entire Winston series to understand this book. BUT you will understand Beard Science better if you read the 2 books before it, plus Beauty and the Mustache first and then Beard in Mind in between reading Beard Science and Engagement and Espionage. And I'd recommend EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM because they're all brilliant. 10 out of 10 every time.

Engagement and Espionage was the perfect pick me up! Revisiting Cletus, Jenn and the rest of the Winston family was pure entertainment! Cletus Winston is one of the most absolute, uniquely written character I’ve come across! His way with words, attention to detail, love for his family, and all that sly scheming...I never know whether I should shake my head at his antics or laugh myself silly!Random fact: that honey was bee vomit.

I absolutely fell in love with Cletus and Jenn. Their antics literally make me laugh out loud and their grief becomes my grief. Anxiously awaiting more.
