Disney Villains: Delightfully Evil: The Creation • The Inspiration • The Fascination (Disney Editions Deluxe) Hardcover – July 12, 2016

I loved the content of the book - it lists the animators, release dates, directors, voice actors, etc. and is a good reference book. I personally would've preferred that the characters be listed in chronological order so you can better see the evolution of the animation process but I see why the author ordered them the way she did. I still thoroughly enjoyed it so I'll still give it 5 stars. The images were great as well and really help you understand the creative process from the beginnings of designing the look of the characters to the finished product. Great for any age.

This book is outstanding, I have not yet finished it but its one of those books (for me anyway) that you'll find something new or missed in previous readings. The pages and the look of the pictures are high quality, each page contains a short bio on the character as well as who the voice actor, and a tidbit of information on the development of the character. Each section of the book is color coded down the long side of the page giving it a very nice look when reading and viewing it when closed. This covers from Classic Disney up till today (Zootopia) I highly recommend this book for the Disney Book Collector!!

I wanted this book for so long and have been really happy with my purchase. Each page offers insight on each villain, even one's that aren't as well known or popular. The images are beautiful and it's been fun to read up on each one and how they came to be. This is a must have for any Disney fan!

I mostly have this book out as a coffee table book, and find myself flipping through when I'm home alone. The images are stunning and the stories are well-crafted to give the reader a sense of the dedication to the art and process that the artists went through to create some of the most wicked on-screen characters.

The book is set up like a quick reference guide, with the name of the villain and the movie they appear in.Special mention goes to Sterling Holloway and the Nine Old Men.There are short paragraphs titled: "Fun Facts," which are short and interesting.This is a great gift for Disney fans, especially those who love trivia.The book includes Pixar films and is current up to Zootopia.

A "delightfully evil" roster of baddies varying in magical monsters to normal power-hungry humans. I love how it explains their motives and categorizes them. Especially useful with the villain spoiler chapter as some would not want to know their villainy until having seen the films. The only, small misgiving I have is that I wish it showed more incarnations of these villains in their inspirations or depicted in other films or TV. Such as comparisons of them from their character counterparts in ABC's"Once Upon a Time ", Shere Khan and Kaa versions now shown in the live action/3-D Disney movie, the stepsister Anastasia's happily ever after, Hook's origins (seriously see Disney's "The Pirate Fairy"), or even other Disney sequel's villains (like Zira, Morgana, Sa'luk, etc.). No one knows that Mozenrath (from the Aladdin TV show) was scripted to be Aladdin's brother. Apparently it makes for a second volume in itself, dealing with all the lesser seen villains. Still, it holds a great amount of knowledge and concept work on the major antagonists throughout the Disney films.

I ordered it for my best friend for Christmas. When it arrived, I wanted to keep it for myself. In the end I broke down and gave it to him anyway and he absolutely loves it. Now I have to order another one for me.

Amazing! Spent hours reading with my daughter every single page!

Als Disney-Bösewichtfan war ich ganz begeistert von diesem Buch. Das Cover ist wunderschön gestaltet und ein echter Blickfang.Es beinhaltet alle Disneybösewichte die es -jemals- gegeben hat. Jedem Villain wurde eine Seite gewidmet auf der er beschrieben wird und sein Charakter und seine Beweggründe erläutert werden. Manchmal sind auch die originalen Skizzenoder Vorentwürfe zu sehen. Man kann dann die Entwicklung vom ersten Entwurf bis zur endgültigen Figur nachverfolgen. Das Buch ist sehr humorvoll geschrieben.
