Aleve Direct Therapy – Refill Gel Pads (2 pairs of gel pads)

The conductive adhesive gel on the manufacturers pads and refill pads QUICKLY loses its adhesive ability, usually in 1 to 2 uses. Instead of buying Aleve refill pads for $8 each, buy a tube of Parker Labs "Tensive" adhesive gel for $6 and apply to the pads you already have. The "Tensive" should last for more than 100 uses. It's a no-brainer! .

Pads are necessary for the device. Brand new they work great. After a few uses they are useless due to lack of stick. To extend life by 5X or more, grab some “spectra 360 electrode gel” by Parker (or other, similar product). After use put about half a hershey’s Kiss-worth on each pad, spread around with finger to liberally coat, and put cellophanes back on, push air bubbles out, and they’lll be nice and sticky for next time. The gel itself is not sticky, but just something like gelled, somehow-conductive pure water. Keep your pads wetted with this gel and be amazed how long you can keep a pair of pads going!

This is the most effective devise and I am so happy I found it! I have scoliosis, curvature of the spine, at 60 degree curvature. My Orthopedic surgeon recommended surgery last year. However I found a Yoga Therapist that uses iHamuna Yoga that treats particular areas of concern. I am working at correcting the curvature and gaining strength which is working.I have chronic lower back pain that is increased when hiking, golfing and fishing. I use one treatment with the Direct Therapy Devise prior to any and then leave it on in case I need to use it again to alleviate tightness and or pain. I am pain free! Miracles such as my therapist and this devise do happen! I have used it just at home or after the gym if I need to, again pain free.Skin needs to be clean, I find even soap residuals need to be removed in order to get it to adhere. I was able to get 5 treatment with a pair of pads and have extra on hand, I wouldn't want to be without this devise!I hope this review helps anyone who is looking for relief.

I love this item, but it's a bit too expensive for frequent use. These replacement pads can be used multiple times.I get from 2 to 5 uses on each based on weather and how long I use them.I Found that when done, I put them back on the plastic pad they come on, slide them in a ziplock bag and put in fridge.This helps the gel pad reconstitute itself for more uses.

I’ve had to limit use of NSAID’s for lower back pain and decided to give Direct Therapy a try. I have not been disappointed at all and have recommended to friends and family. Follow the instructions and you won’t be disappointed in the relief it provides for lower back pain. Be especially careful with the application and use adhesive pads and you will get a lot of use out of an individual set of pads. I think I was able to use the first set well over 20 times. Just slowly pull away from the skin and quickly reapply the protective covers.

. They really stick it to you once you get the machine. There is nothing remotely complicated about this product and hence no justification for the price other than the fact they have you by the b*lls once you get the machine - which really works. Sometimes a pair of these will last 3 days, sometimes 8 hours. If it is hot or humid they tend to "melt" into a liquid and you will go through them very quickly. For chronic back pain, I would still recommend the unit as it was a life changer for me.

I have chronic back issues stemming from an injury years ago. This is the perfect "rescue" solution for one of those days where you wake up already hurting a 7 out of 10 before your feet hit the floor. It will bring you from that 7 down to a 1 or a 2 so you can have a day. I don't use it all the time - just on those really bad days - then I follow it up with very little activity for 3-4 days to rest my back - but it will get you away from the edge in the mean time.

The product works well when functioning. Extremely poor Value for Money occurs because of the outrageously high cost of replacing the limited use adhesive pads. Without the gel pads the unit doesn’t work. Check the cost of replacement pads before buying this unit. The necessity of using a microscopic screwdriver to replace batteries in the unit is very poor design. It’s too bad that this useful device is rendered unaffordable because of price-gouging for low cost gel pads. At this writing 2 pairs of gel pads cost between $35-50.

I LOVE THE PROTECTION ITSELF? I'M 70 THOUGH...SO KEEP LOSING THE REMOTE AND THE LITTLE SCREW DRIVER.FINALLY ATTACHED THEM...WHY CAN^T THE BATTERY COVER SNAP INTO PLACE, AND THE INCREASE BUTTON BE ON THE UNIT?I RECOMMENDED IT TO AN ELDERLY WOMAN & SHE SAID, "NO WAY.....TOO MUCH TO KEEP TRACK OF."THERE ARE SOOOOOO MANY ELDERLY IN HOMES....BEDRIDDEN...THAT COULD USE THIS, IF IT WERE EASIER TO USE.I'VE HAD A DR. HO UNIT SINCE EARLY 80s ...NEVER CHANGED THE PADS...STILL STICKS....STILL WORKING WELL.

Not as expected

Amazing little gadget and the power produced with 3 triple A batteries is amazing. Relaxes the lower back very nicely.

the pads 2/3 ... work as described however too $$ for what you get
