This tea set is adorable and functional. I usually drink tea by myself and this teapot is just big enough to fill up and have something warm and good to drink for a while. The pot keeps the tea nice and hot, and the cups are for drinking it in small portions that cool to drinkable temperature fast enough. They don't cool down fast, they retain heat pretty good actually, but what's in the cup will reach drinkable temperatures faster than what's in the pot. This works out well for me. Sometimes I share a pot of tea with my mom, and she enjoys drinking out of this set as much as I do.Honestly, I think Loose leaf tea is the best way to go, so the tea basket inside is perfect. I also like my tea to be brewed strong, so I'll leave the tea basket inside the entire time I'm drinking, then add more hot water and let it brew again. I suppose if you don't like particularly strong tea you can take the basket out after a while, and it's easy to remove even shortly after brewing, just be careful not to burn yourself with the hot water. The bamboo handle doesn't seem particularly flimsy to me, and it's easy to remove while cleaning the teapot. I do need to get a bottle brush so I can clean the inside of the top of the spout, but that's purely aesthetic I think. Mostly I just rinse the pot out when I'm done with it (and the basket) and then have it ready for the next time I want tea. I use it almost every day and it's holding up well so far.

Gave this set as a gift to my daughter and we have used this as a family several times and the quality is wonderful. The painted design is very well done and the cups are a typical size for a Japanese tea set. The walls of the teapot and cups are thick and retains heat for some time. Teapot also comes with a screen for loose tea. Very fun and functional set.

The bottom of the kettle cracked and started to leak water after about 40 uses. This is unacceptable considering it is a tea kettle.

Perfect! My daughter wanted a "real" tea party, so this will do great. Good quality and you can take out the filter to use tea bags instead of loose leaf tea.

Great tea set only wish the strainer were a little more sturdy but still a great tea set the color is actually prettier in person

It's small, but is there a better way to have tea for two to four people? Or if you really like tea I guess you could drink the whole pot.
