Genuine Leather Executive Desk Pad/Writing Pad, Brown

I got into fountain pens a few months back. The problem with nice pens-- okay, there are a lot of problems with them, but the relevant one here is that they write so much better with something under the paper. I was just keeping two or three sheets of paper under the paper I was writing on, but this was highly unsatisfactory for a number of reasons. So I went looking for blotters/desk mats.Now here's the other thing-- I don't have a desk. I wish I did, just a little old fashioned wooden writing desk, but we don't have a lot of extra space in our apartment. So I'm generally writing/corresponding from our dining room table. It's a space that, in between meals, plays host to LEGO construction, oil painting, schoolwork, coloring, and various and sundry craft projects and science experiments. So it's not like I can just plop down a desk-sized blotter to permanently live there. It's also bad form in our family to hog the table, so my prior blotter, which took up roughly a third of the surface, was heavily resented.But this-- OMG I love this thing. YES, real leather (at least, smells and feels like it), stiff without being unbendable, nice size writing area without taking over the space, a little give but not too much. My only issue now is where to store the thing when I'm not using it-- it's slightly too tall to fit in my bookshelf.But that's a minor issue compared to the feeling of sitting down to a leather blotter with some fine white or ivory paper and a fountain pen......

It is just OK. I wouldn't buy it again as it is too thin. If it was only $15.00, it would be worth it, but it's $30.00 and too much $ for what you get.

Really impressed with the quality of the leather and construction of this desk pad. Quality item at a fair price.
