Cash Acme 3/4 Inch NCLX-5L Temperature and Pressure Relief Valve, Push to Connect Brass Plumbing Fittings, Copper, CPVC Pipe, 150 PSI, 18821-0150

I needed a new T&P relief valve for my water heater, and this Cash Acme 3/4" NCLX-5 was exactly what I was looking for. It’s the same model I saw at the big box stores, but way more affordable here on Amazon. The quality is solid, it feels durable, and installation was quick and easy with just a bit of thread sealant. No leaks, no issues — it fit perfectly and works like it should. Definitely a great buy if you’re replacing an old valve. Saves money without sacrificing quality.

I received this T&P valve within the quoted timeframe, all specs are exactly as advertised, and the price is among the best I’ve found. It was a direct replacement for the failed valve in my 20 gallon / 120V Intertherm residential water heater, model # IN1201HMTK1, in my Forest River travel trailer. I threaded a SharkBite Max 3/4” MIP x Push-to-connect brass fitting into the bottom of the valve as pictured, then ran a 3/4” PEX drain line to the exterior (both of which were purchased separately). Installation was quick and easy. I would recommend this product.

My old relief valve started spewing enough water out that it was intermittently turning the water heater on and off. It's a tankless heater. This new valve appears to have solved the issue. I have hot water again. The description says push to connect. This valve has 3/4" NPT threads, which is what I needed. I didn't use thread tape. I've always been a fan of Jomar Green Stuff pipe dope. That's what I used to seal it.

I ordered this valve since it was the exact model I replaced. The old one just wouldn’t seal any more and had a constant drip. Probably due to the hard water we have. The job to replace was easy, shut off the supply to the water heater, shut off the gas, connect a hose to the drain spigot and open the drain. I also opened a hot water faucet upstairs so it would drain faster. I checked to see if the water level was below the safety valve, then replaced it.

This safety pressure release valve fit my water tank and fixed the leak issue I was having with the old valve. Install was easy with a pair of vise grips and Teflon tape on the threads to prevent any leaks. Now the hot water tank is working as it should and not leaking anymore.
