Amazing Soup!
Authentic & Tom Yum soup right at home! Easy to make & delicious right out of the package. Can easily get two meals out of this. Due to digestion issues, i kept mine simple and added fresh cilantro, lime juice and had it with a side of steamed white rice. It would def make a heartier meal by adding veggies, seafood, and or meat. I found i didn't need to add anything else for flavor, the taste was delish before adding anything to it, just really a matter of preference. It does have a kick to it, but still very enjoyable. I wish more soups would taste this good straight from the package.

Terrific
This is an excellent product. Tastes like the soup in a Thai restaurant.

Delicious and calorie friendly
Easy to prepare and tastes like restaurant quality. A bit spicy, but still delicious. Wonderful with vegetables, chicken and shrimp! Makes a great warm up for a cold winter day.

Delicious and quick
Tom yum gai is my favoite lunch order at Thai restaurants. I've made it from scratch before but that is very cumbersome. This is my favorite tom yum soup base, much better than Taste of Thai cocoanut ginger soup base. Be advised it is pretty spicy! Here's what we do; it only takes a few minutes. This is a recipe for a meal for 2 or first course for 4.1 to 1.25 lbs chicken tenders, cut into 1-2" cubes (never frozen is best; putting in frozen chicken makes it too tough)1 can straw mushrooms, drained and rinsed1 package of Lobo tom yum paste4 cups chicken broth1 bunch of cilantro, rinsed and stripped for the leaves2 cups or so of freshly cooked rice (I start the rice cooker just a bit before starting the soup)fish saucelimeschopped green onion or chives1. Place chicken broth in pot with straw mushrooms and tom yom paste; bring to light boil/high simmer2. Add chicken cubes - these will cook in a matter of minutes; check so it does not overcook3. Turn off heat, add cilantro4. Put a 1/2 cup or so of rice into the bottom of your soup bowls (the more rice, the more substantial the meal)5. Top the rice with a generous serving of soup6. Garnish to taste - I use a quarter of a lime, a squeeze of fish sauce and a sprinkle of chopped chivesIf you make the tom kai, I use the same recipe except half and half cocoanut milk and chicken broth

VERY spicy but yummy
I have never had the real soup (I'm vegetarian, and I have yet to find anywhere that doesn't use fish sauce and/or chicken broth), so I cannot speak to how accurate the flavor of this is, but holy cow! When they say "spicy" they aren't kidding. I am someone who adds hot sauce and jalapeños to nearly everything, yet combining this with 4 cups of water yielded something so hot, I had to spit it out and chug some milk.To make it palatable, I had to made do with what I had on hand based on some online recipes I found. I added an additional 4 cups of water (so a total of 8 cups), a packet of mushroom flavored ramen (noodles and seasoning packet), 2 vegetarian chicken breasts, a few diced tomatoes, a very finely diced carrot, some diced green pepper, a lot of lime juice, and cilantro. It was still pretty spicy to me, but I could at least eat it (though I needed to keep reapplying chapstick or my lips felt singed). For the future, I plan on adding a can of coconut milk or something fatty and maybe reducing the additional liquid if that mitigates the heat.Overall, it was pretty tasty but apparently I am highly sensitive to Thai chiles because when prepared as directed on the package, it was inedible. With some doctoring, it was pretty tasty and a nice change of pace from my usual canned and homemade soups.

living so rurally, I missed this soup
Lived in LA for years and really enjoyed access to many outstanding restaurants. Whenever one of us got sick and stuffed up, we would order Tom Yum for delivery from our favorite Thai place. Now I live in the back end of nowhere. I bought this product when I was so sick and miserable. The package instructions were easy and the flavor! ah! the smell was intoxicating. VERY SPICY HOT. So I ordered three packs. So Happy!

this is good
This is good stuff - somewhat spicy as it should be. If you've been to South East Asia than you know that this is definitely not too spicy. Add shrimp, mushrooms, fish sauce, cilantro and lime and you will have a great meal.I am reordering.

Flavorful
I have no idea if it is authentic tasting. But for a white girl in the Midwest it was flavorful, spicy and just what I was looking for. Light broth of tomatoe with a kick of spice. Not just hot but spicy flavor
