More vintage sleuthing from the Detection Club
This is another beautifully presented reissue of a vintage classic, following on from recent reissues of the Floating Admiral and Ask A Policeman. With a different format each time, here we're presented with six short stories each depicting a perfect murder. There are some big names here, including Dorothy L. Sayers and Margery Allingham. All are one off stand alone stories and don't feature one of the famous detectives from these mighty pens.An entertaining feature is the contribution of real life Supt. Cornish of Scotland Yard who comments on these cases and how the police might solve them. All the stories are highly enjoyable vintage romps, with settings ranging from Home Counties suburbia to South American dictatorships.Once again Agatha Christie takes top billing on the dust jacket, this time thanks to her 1929 journalistic feature on a real life murder case. It's an interesting piece Christie completists will want to read, but very much plays second fiddle to the entertaining fictional murders in the main book.

An interesting concept where fiction meets reality
This is an interesting concept, where well known crime writers write a supposedly unsolvable murder which is then considered by a retired detective. Each story is quite different, and the reasoned analysis from a police point of view sometimes makes you see things in a different way.Very enjoyable.
