I thought it was shorter than 50" at first, but when I pulled it along as it filled, it got longer and longer! It is kind of a laugh for people to see, as it writhes like a snake as it fills and shrinks and moves on its own as it empties. The color is a very good deep black, with shiny brass fittings that the included sprayer fit easily onto, as did the hose bib. There is a free storage bag of mesh and satiny material with a drawstring top that is easy enough to open that it might get used for its intended purpose. The included green sprayer has the usual settings: jet, wide, stream, shower etc. and all worked well, although the hose shrinks back/writhes, when some of the lower pressure sprays are selected. Hard to explain, but it does seem very black snakish. I am delighted that it is so light, doesn't snag or coil onto itself like my last awful spiral hose did, and is tiny when drained! It could fit into a 1 gallon planter or mixing bowl, not that you'd store it in one, but that gives an idea of the size. Draining it only takes a minute, and the visuals are amusing as it shrivels and wrinkles and shrinks, haha, good for the easily amused, and when drained it is a snap to gather up and store. I will admit, I was very reluctant and hesitant purchasing the ProLawn Expandable Water Hose. I had seen something similar advertised on late night television and it just sounded too gimmicky. I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG. There I said it. I was wrong. The ProLawn Expandable Water Hose is made of high quality material and couplings and has exceeded my expectations of what a water hose should be. I am no rocket surgeon or brain scientist, but it takes a lot to impress me. I am amazed at the water pressure and how quickly this hose expands and retracts. The things I appreciate about it most are, its extremely lightweight, easy to hang and no kinks. I don't have to fight the hose when I am going to the area in need of watering or walk back to unkink the hose. Brilliant! I highly recommend this item.

This is hose is fantastic! For years, I've hated dealing with hoses (the kinking, the cumbersomeness, the difficulty in uncoiling and recoiling) -- so much so, that I usually pawn all outdoor garden duties onto dear husband. :) But that will be an issue no more, now that we've got this baby in our lives! It really does feel like I'm some sort of wizard using magic -- it doesn't kink. It doesn't get tied up in knots. It is simple, lightweight and crazy EASY to clean-up. I love it and can now join my husband in the backyard with gardening. :)Delivery and shipping was super prompt and without issue. Fantastic transaction all around -- if you do any sort of outdoor gardening or have gotten frustrated with hose issues in the past -- give this one a try. Highly recommended!

Updated: 1 of the 3 I purchased lasted only about a year, the second less than 2, but the third (and much less used one) is still in good shapeMy old hose and I had a blow-out fight last week about his weight, kinkiness and lack of communication skills, so I kicked him out and purchased one of these guys. LIFE-CHANGING!He is super light, easy to wind back up and even comes with a really nice sprayer. All good things in my book, and for my general sanity while watering the plants.I love this new hose so much that I have officially kicked out my backyard hose as well, and replaced it with two of these. Watering the garden has never been easier.I should note that I haven't yet tested the long-term relationship worthiness of these hoses, but so far, so good.You should definitely get one...Or three...However many you need to get the job done.

In some respects, this hose is great: it's lightweight; it's easy to use; and, the fittings are of superior quality. The problem is that, even with babying the hose (never leaving it pressurized and never leaving it in the sun) it only lasted six weeks. That would be OK if I could afford to buy six of these every year. So, this is a very nice expandable hose, that like every other expandable hose, is not durable.

My mom is 93 and still gardens! But, the hose was just too heavy for her to drag around and put away resulting in shoulder pain. I gave her 2 of these 50' ProLawn Expandable hoses as a birthday gift and she is back in business! They are so light and easy to use, makes gardening and filling the bird baths fun again! I got 2 more for myself. Hook them together for a longer hose or put one in the front of the house and one in the back. Best invention since post it notes! My research determinrd this hose to be the lightest with best rating. I'm thrilled with my purchase. Fast delivery, too! The Spray descriptions on the nozzle don't match 100% with what you get, but I don't see that as a big deal. It works!

First the nozzle failed--it never secured tight enough to prevent leaks at the base of the faucet, and then one plastic piece at a time just crumbled off. But the real problem was the hose itself which disintegrated to near uselessness in only nine months. It looks great, and the expanding/shrinking style is wonderful. But it doesn't hold up to even light use. It's super lightweight. But you'll be replacing it every few months.

Have bought these before without the brass fittings and I like this one much better. Price is qood and holding up well over several months. After your done using it let some of the pressure out of the hose and they will last longer. Pressure isn't as strong as a normal hose so if you don't need a lot of pressure it's a nice hose for small spaces.
