another good read
Daniel Hurst’s books appeal to me. Once I begin one, I cannot put it down until I’m finished! This wasn’t one of my favorites however.

Good story. Don’t know who the mastermind is until the very end it certainly kept my attention a good fast read

The Tutor
Very good book. Held my interest although it was a little monotonous at times. I wondered where it was going but finally a twist I didn't see coming. Great author and as with his other books I would recommend it.

Took awhile to get into it
Wasn’t a bad book, but certainly didn’t keep me wanting to get back to it . I enjoy this authors books, but this one wasn’t very intriguing

I feel robbed
I feel as if it just ended with explanation but not very fulfilling. Not sure I will read another by this author.

Lies, deceit and betrayal……
Hidden dark secrets, lies, betrayal along with mystery and suspense leads to a great story. The ending is unpredictable which I like. This was a fast read for me. It held my attention all the way through. My only complaint is using God’s name in vain. Even if it was only once that’s once too many. It doesn’t make the book any better and for a Christian looking for a good interesting book I hate to come across that. That’s why it only got four stars.

Good story
I really like how this author writes his stories through all of the characters in the story. Everyone gets a chapter at a time to explain their thoughts or explain themselves regarding their part in what is going on in the story. Amy and Nick have been a couple since they were 16 and are married with 2 children. Their oldest is finishing up his schooling but is not a good student, so they decide to hire a tutor to try to help with his final exams. The tutor changes everything in their lives and not in a good way. The last few chapters floored me and I can't believe I hadn't figured it out sooner but, let's just say, the author has a way of making you overlook things that you should pay attention to, without you knowing it ! Daniel Hurst's books have really made my last few weeks very happy and entertaining. I highly recommend this book and any others that he has published. Now, on to his next !

Middle of the road
My first read by this author, and all I can say is even though I wasn't super impressed, I wasn't really disappointed either. It's a good concept for a thriller and is told from the POV of the main four characters - the husband, the wife, the son, and the tutor. I normally don't like this kind of POV switching but it does work for this setup. The ending let me down - no spoilers but it definitely felt very abrupt and was not at all satisfying. The way the characters act makes it seem like none of the events of the book occurred. It reminded me of those horrible "it was all a dream" stories, even though all this stuff actually happened. It only took me a couple of hours to get through, and for 99 cents it wasn't a terrible book. I'd be open to trying more from this author to see what he can do. This was OK, but wasn't the "gripping psychological thriller" I was promised.

Great narration
A story narrated differently.. or should I say that the story itself is different? Although some parts are far too fictional ( is there something like that? Far too fictional? I meant to say, very difficult to relate and believe), most of the story is narrated very well, keeps the reader occupied

Boring and repetitive
Half wau through the novel i understood nothing more is goung to happen.. the whole time its plain repetition with same talking about insecurity of the wife due to the young tutor.. how such books grt published is really a surprise

Not worth reading
This is a mercifully short book. It has some very strange language, like kissing someone is "being intimate" . This is also used by a married woman to describe having sex with her husband. Really?? And "cooking books", not cook or cookery books, and worst of all, "bribe" is used instead of blackmail. There are others, but I wouldn't recommend looking for them. This is a very flimsy story, padded out with repetition, with very dull protagonists.

Kept my attention
Enjoyed this book. Kept me intrigued. Was a bit disappointed with the ending. Loved how it was written through various characters.
