A Tale of the Secret Saint (Light Novel) Vol. 2

The series is quite enjoyable, probably due to how funny and lighthearted it is. I like the protagonist due to her simplicity and airheadedness, even if she is a bit inconsistent character-wise. The dragon is a bit simple so I'm hoping some depth to his character comes to light next book.I also wish the captains had more to differentiate their characters from each other. They are all "manly" (it's definitely female-focused, but it's not over the top for a male reader), strong characters and I sorta wish there'd be more to vary their characters through combat and interactions. They are all the same to me thus far.Lastly, the books are very short, with a lot of rehashing of the same events but through different character perspectives. So you keep hearing about the same events over and over with slight deviations. Also, there are a lot of side stories that serves as filler. If I remember correctly, the book ended prior to a couple side stories, and that was about 65-70% in. So 30% of the book was unimportant.If you're looking for a simple, relaxing, but still novel story then I think this will do you well. I needed something uplifting and this didn't disappoint.

The author makes no attempt to make his MC serious. Just how much miss understanding and confusion can be caused to the other characters. Very easy reading and he threw in some short stories to add to the pile of confusion.

OMMFG I'm in love/ obsessed with this series!! Fia is an absolute hoot, and you never know what chaos she is unwittingly about to release. 😈 😂😂😂😂😈 I cannot wait for the next book to come out!!

This series seems to definitely be improving as it goes on--our main character seems to be in a better situation overall, and we see less of her horrible relatives.

Good installment but 40 percent is side story short story from the captains. They're interesting but I want more main plot for the price.Still fia is adorbs and so is zav so that's good but we miss a bunch of side characters from the first volume.

This novel is largely a reactionary story of each of the knight captains towards our protagonist saint who has become a very problematic child in their care.The identity of the protagonist's familiar has been discovered by the knight captains; the black dragon is one of the most powerful creatures on the continent. They are scrambling on what to do, in house, to get a handle on the situation. From becoming subservient to tactically cautions towards the protagonist, they don't really know how to respond to their dunce knight recruit.The saint shows little sign for any grand ambition nor seeking to take advantage of the powerful situation she finds herself in. In fact, she doesn’t even realize at all what she has become as a result of her familiar dragon. The protagonist is little more than a naive child, hiding in place sight in fear of the bogyman of her past. So much for keeping a low profile. I’d wager her identity as the saint won’t remain hidden for long.There isn’t a lot of growth on the protagonist’s part in this story, as any sort of development is happening with the dragon familiar. We learn about his past; how dangerous he is and how dangerous he will become. He has taken on the role of protector towards his master as her antics are bound to get her into trouble in the near future.

It was good but way to.short. yes there were several short stories as fillers but would prefer more content.Anyways 4 stars

Every time Zavriel talks, it's blocked out in the text. This was VERY frustrating as you only got half the conversation and couldn't always make out what was happening.

As Light novels go this one fairly expensive at £7.12, it is also quite short on number of words as well, and is one of the shorter Manga Novels, which is the reason it lost one star.The other star lost was to do with that the main story was only half the book and the rest of it were side stories, other none mine protagonists perspectives and the like. Bearing in mind I buy a lot of light novels this book has the most of side stories in what is arguably a short book.I would say then this is not a novel but a set of short stories, that is where the other star was lost.However there are some genuine funny moments in it, which will not stop me from buying the next one in the series, if it does continue however I will.

Still playing the airhead, despite it being clear they've noticed and seem to be trying to earn her trust.Not sure where they're going with this, but I hope they don't keep her playing the ditz.

Stören tun mich eigentlich hauptsächlich die vielen Side Stories (letzte 25% und zwischendrin), aber am meisten die Geschehnisse teilweiße von drei Leuten zu beschreiben. Ich weiß das alles. Danke das ich es nochmal aus der anderen Sicht erfahren darf. IdR weiß ich aber bereits was derjenige der mir nun seine Perspektive erzählt dachte, weil es in viel besserer Form bereits von FIA durch die Handlungen und Beschreibungen erzählt wurde. Das bremst die Handlung unnötig aus. Sonst wäre es viel besser.Machen aber viele LN. Zum Glück gewöhnen sich das die meisten aber über die Zeit ab (z.B. Villainess, all routes lead to doom).Ich denke ich gebe dem nächsten Buch dann noch ne Chance. Aber wenn's wieder so viel drüberklebt, dass die Hauptstory kaum noch zu sehen ist, dann wirds mein letztes. Zumindest hat der Autor es leicht eine Zusammenfassung zu schreiben. Geht bestimmt in einem Satz.

La historia me gusta! En especial todo lo que tiene que ver con Fia y su dragón. Solo que las historias de relleno fueron demasiadas que termine aburrido en varios momentos. Entiendo que quieran extender la historia de los personajes secundarios! Pero agregaron demasiados eventos. Por eso las tres estrellas. De ahí en más está divertido el libro!
