Hyena (A Day in the Life: Grassland Animals) Paperback – January 1, 2011

My toddler became interested in hyenas from the Lion King movie so this was a fun addition to our collection. It has 24 pages and each page has a large fantastic pic so I enjoy reading it too. This is for ages 5-8 and it would be a good learning-to-read book but I'm currently reading it to a 3 year old so I think the age range is larger depending on their interest in animals.Update: we left this book somewhere (lost it) and of all the books we have, my 3 year old wants this one. He was not happy until a replacement arrived so when I got the alert to write a review, I figured I would add to my original one. We still read it regularly and now that he is a little older, he talks about hyenas using his imagination like, "RUN, hyenas are chasing us!". So it's super cute and we have used it as a learning tool.

Very disappointed that it wasn't clear this is a children's book. Purchased it for an adult friend as part of a birthday present. Very disappointed. Any suggestions?

This book had great pictures, was easy reading and fun facts about hyneas. My grandson loved it and still remembers the fun facts in the book.

Bought for my son's school project as there weren't many books on hyenas at the library. This is a great book with beautiful photos and tons of information on the species. I highly recommend it!!

Purchased as a birthday gift for my 6 year old great-great nephew. He loved the book and was able to read it by himself.

Got this book for my daughter, it's a good book for those learning to read.
