Okay. So I bought this...despite the 'wiring issue'.
YES. The wiring harness to the ECO motor on this product is NOT plug-n-play. So, instead of swapping the whole ECO bracket from the old to the new (and messing with the springs and stuff), I took off the motor from my old carb, removed the motor on the new one (pictured), and put the old one (that I knew was working) onto the new carburetor. Now, be aware, it takes a tap or two to seat the old onto the new (and making sure that the throttle 'slot' in the bracket matches the drive on the motor, but once it looked right, I replaced the mounting screws and reassembled the generator on my EU2001i. I DID find that using the new cap with the new carb was easier. The carb comes with ample drain and vent lines. Actually some trimming is needed post-install. I used the lines because it was 'easier'.The replacement was needed because of neglect due to my absence. I tried cleaning the old carb to no avail. The bowl was filled with orange 'mud' when I disassembled the carburetor. After draining all of the fuel (and water) from the tank and system, thoroughly cleaning the float bowl, the main jet, and everything else I could get to, I could only get a brief start using starting fluid. I knew I was getting fire at the plug and fuel to the bowl -- still no go.Long story short, the generator started after only a few pulls (video), and starts on first pull now -- and ECO is doing its job. I guess we'll see how long that lasts, but, all in all, I'm quite satisfied. I'd give it 5 stars, but the thing IS advertised as a direct replacement -- which it is not.If it helps somebody along the way, great. Happy fixing!

Works great, but electrical connector is wrong for EU2000i
Just confirming that the electrical connector on the Eco motor (white box up on top of the carb) does not match the original EU2000i. As others have, I swapped the actuator with the old one (as it was still good). Be careful when you do that - there's a small spring that wants to fly across the room (ask me how I know) when you remove them to do the swap.I found the bolt holes in the gaskets to be much larger than the Honda screws, so I just pushed them upward just before tightening everything down as that seemed to line them up better.Gen ran fine with default settings - I didn't have to adjust a thing.I tried cleaning the idle circuit/jet TWICE on my original carb but finally just gave up and installed this new one. Works great.Oh, and I had to trim an inch or two off of the hoses to get them to fit better. But at least they give you plenty to work with.Note that this is NOT an exact replacement for the original - as I mentioned the electrical connector is wrong and one of fuel lines comes in on the right rather than the (original) left, but it doesn't matter.

Wire diagram needed to make this work.
The only problem is the connector for the carb motor is.not compatible with the Honda plug. The wire color codes do not match Honda’s wires and you can only guess how to connect new wires to the old plug. I found it easier to rebuild the old carburetor.

Installing carb
The carb performance is excellent, but beware of installation problem. The original governor solenoid is made by Mitsubishi. The kit's is made by HS Co. ltd. Functionally identical but the connector size is wrong. The solution is to use the old solenoid. One of my nuts on the old solenoid was extremely tight - stripped it. If snug, use some lubricant from the bottom. The new solenoid does not use bolts/washers, but screws ??? I hope it stays in place as the motor creates vibrations. There are no substitute wiring directions or a connector to connector tool - major defect especially if your original solenoid was the problem.

Fit and finish lacking
There was so much manufacturing debris covering the whole thing, I had to thoroughly clean the entire unit before installation to avoid getting it all into the engine. Not much confidence in this one.
