Wildlife 8x24 binoculars - compact, light, robust, sharp and high-contrast images - the ideal companion for mountaineering, climbing or trekking

Did not work well for me since I wear glasses. The price seems high for the quality of image, considering the alternatives available. Excellent build quality and warranty. I ended up returning these, bit the bullet and bought the Leica Ultravid 8x20 with its outstanding image quality - you get what you pay for - and the Ultravids are far more compact.

For the money, I reckon these may be the best lightweight small-size bins around. I did a lot of online research before choosing to buy these and haven't been disappointed in use. These are ideal for bird watching as they are light but very bright and the magnification is large enough but not too large. Close focusing is also good. I chose this model because they are waterproof, but for £50 less you could buy the same make Ultrabright bins of similar spec, from Steiner, just not waterproof. German made and feel very durable. Nice carrying pack, good comfortable neck strap. The eyepiece covers are a bit big and clumsy to fit. As a result I lost them off the bins at first use. However, the reason you pay the money is for the quality of the experience it offers. That's why they are "Tip top" in my view.

grüß euch! Ich bin kein Fernglas-spezialist und schreibe diese Rezension aufgrund meiner direkten Sinneseindrücke. Bisher habe ich ein Eschenbach Trophy 10x50 für Naturbeobachtungen benützt. Nun habe ich mir, nach reiflicher Überlegung, endlich ein GESCHETES Fernglas gegönnt! Mein erster Eindruck: WOW ... des is was Gscheites! Auf Deutsch: sehr Hochwertig gebaut und ausgeführt! Das Steiner ist nur unwesentlich schwerer als das Eschenbach. Es liegt sicher und angenehm in der Hand, die Fokussierung geschieht komfortabel über das mittig gelegene, schön dicke, Rändelrad. Meine leichte Sehschwäche konnte ich über den beidseitigen Dioptrinausgleich ausgleichen. Die Staubabdeckungen Oben und Unten sind Top! ...die untere habe ich mit einer dünnen Kordel am Fernglas gesichert...da könnte Steiner noch was Gutes tun! Nun zum Wichtigsten... Ich habe Objekte in verschiedenen Entfernungen, von Nah ( 2 Meter ) bis Fern mit dem Eschenbach und dem Steiner "beguckt"... Nach einer Viertel Stunde des Vergleiches hab ich das Eschenbach mit einem von Ohr-zu-Ohr-Grinsen weggelegt und mein Herz an das Steiner verloren! Obwohl beide Ferngläser 10-fach Vergrößerern, erscheint mir das Bild vom Steiner etwas größer. Die Farbbrillianz, Klarheit, Bildschärfe usw ist der des Eschenbachglases haushoch überlegen. Es macht wirklich Freude mit dem Steiner die Umwelt zu betrachten! Das sehen ist auch ermüdungsfreier! Bei Dämmerung kann ich definitiv auch einen signifikanen, positiven Unterschied zum Eschenbach feststellen. Ich war zwar bisher mit dem Eschenbach mehr oder weniger zufrieden...das hat sich aber ab heute schlagartig geändert. Mein Ansprüche haben sich nun, da ich den Unterschied kenne, um ein vielfaches gesteigert! Es muss für mich kein Swarowski oder Zeissglas sein... bei denen ich bestimmt nochmal 1000 Euro drauflegen müsste ... das STEINER ist genau meines ... klar 1300€ sind ein Haufen Geld...aber das Sehvergnügen ist es mir wirklich wert! Ich hoffe ich konnte dem Einen oder Anderen mit meiner Ausführung helfen, sollte jemand einen Schreibfehler finden, darf er ihn gerne behalten ;-) Ach ja... ich hab gleich den Steiner Brustgurt mitbestellt... absolut zu empfehlen!!!

Tolles Fernglas. Absolut Spitze. Jeder Cent wert.

These binoculars are simply fantastic and world-class. I'm a 60-year-old US Army veteran with a background in Spec. Ops. I wear glasses now. I live in the Adirondack Mtns. of upstate NY and spend almost all of my time in the wilderness hunting, fishing, and exploring. So I know quality equipment when I see it. These binoculars are truly world-class and built like an Abrams M-1 tank. The optical glass is second to none. I've used Swarovski and Leica Glass in the past, and both are exceptional glass in their own right. These Steiner's just blew me away! I just can't find the words to describe how advanced they are compared to the other two brands top of the line glass. I highly recommend these Steiner's.
