I didn't know what varnish to buy for acrylic paintings but knew I wanted a matte look so I got this one and a Windsor and Newton spray as well. The Pebeo is much cheaper than Windsor and Newton and just as good, you do need to use about twice as much though! I give it 4 light sprays until I get the look I want. It doesn't mention UV protection on the can, personally I think it's going to make little difference anyway but for some people UV protection is really important. One thing I should mention because I had no idea about this: if you're varnishing acrylic paintings you need to seal the acrylic with "isolation coat" something like a few coats of gloss medium to isolate the paint from the varnish then if the painting gets really old and yellow you can strip it and redo the varnish without harming the paintwork. This stuff is also used for varnishing crafts, woodwork and all that. The varnish is dry within 15 minutes (to look at, at least) but I noticed it takes 24: hours to see the full effect, just something to bear in mind.

This product is as described by the seller and was exactly as ordered. I use it on completed pictures coloured by me to block the UV light, which may cause fading. It sprays a fine spray without clogging or changing any of the colours. It is a 200ml size so will coat many A4 size pictures making it good value and recommendable.

Sealed an acrylic painting, displayed it and it sold. What's not to like?

I was looking for a fixative to seal watercolour on canvas, one that would not react with the watercolour and cause it to move too much. This was almost perfect, it did cause a little bleeding but didn't affect the look of the piece too much. I'm happy with this spray and am comfortable using it again in the future.
