There are better ones out there
Congratulations you’ve just purchased hours of frustration I consider myself a pretty handy guy and have installed speedometer’s on bikes before. You don’t need a PhD to understand the directions but it would’ve been nice to have when designing it. The monitor must be mounted less than 24 inches from the receiver. And on a kids bike that might work well however anything over 24 inches the monitor must be mounted too far up on the spokes for the magnet to make contact And on a kids bike that might work well however anything over 24 inches the monitor must be mounted too far up on the forks for the magnet to make contact. Mounting it farther down on forks of larger bikes the monitor is too far away from the receiver.

Great product regardless of spoke clearance.
Great gift. Works great with electric bike. Only tested to speeds up to 20 mph but very accurate. Sensor installation was the only part that took me a few tries to get dialed in. The manual and pictures show the sensor to be pointed straight towards the spokes, but there was not enough clearance on this bike. So I had to move sensor 45° towards the back of the bike and have the magnet angled towards the sensor. (Attached picture). Everything worked as expected after install.

I got a new bike and I wanted to mount a computer on the stem angle to the handlebar. While it was shown on the promo photos, it was never mentioned in the instructions how to covert the unit from the handlebar install format. I looked at the reviews and found that you have to remove the 4 screws on the backplate and rotate it 90 degrees and reattach. The rest was easy since I have installed similar units on other bikes. YouTube and the user reviews offer some good "how to's" if the instructions leave you wondering what is going on. I used the tire chart instead of measuring a rollout for better accuracy but I am finding it matches well with what I get from the apps (MapMyRIde and AllTrails). As one other user-reviewed, if you stop for 5 minutes or more, the unit goes into sleep mode so you need to hit a button to wake it back up. Less than a 5 minute stop, it starts tracking when you start rolling again. I wear +2.5 readers at times but I can see this display easily. All in all, very satisfied.UPDATE (June 28, 2021) - on two occasions during long rides this unit has stopped working. It seems to go into a reboot mode and then I have to power it back up and reset the tire, date, and other demographics. I usually have redundant systems for distance but I do like immediate feedback on my speed. So I am deducting a couple of stars from my original 4.

What a gem!
I was a bit skeptical about a 13 dollar and some change bike computer, but for the price what did I have to loose. I have had it for about a month and must say it has been one of the best value for the money purchases I have made in a long time. Simple 5 minute Well I thought I would update my review install, It is very accurate as well on a recent 16 mile round trip off road treck I returned to my point of beginning to within 1/10 of a mile. I have been caught in the rain and the unit still performed flawlessly. I’m impressed! Small light weight, rugged, simple to use.Well it’s 8/22/21 and an update on my bike computer, put fresh batteries in the lower part could seem to get it to reconnect. Parked the bike for few days it’s running perfectly what about a year later . Use it every day great bargain

Works great - Installation takes some deciphering
I took my new speedometer out for a ride for the first time this morning I am truly glad I purchased it. Since I became more active in the last few months and spend more time on my bike, having an idea of how fast and far I was traveling spurred me on to push harder and put in a few extra miles. It works just as described and once you know which buttons to push, gives a good array of useful information.Having said that (and I DO NOT say this with any intent toward racism) doesn't anyone at these Chinese companies have an uncle or cousin in the USA or England who can translate what should be fairly simple instructions onto something grammatical and understandable? The other problem with getting the three components properly placed is that the diagrams are extremely small and not very clearly drawn. BUT, I'm no Einstein but had it working within 15 minutes of opening the box. So, yes, buy this but either have a shot of whiskey to steady your nerves or rehearse a few of your favorite curses and have them ready. Great value for the cost.
